Classic Space Baby Command Base

While the others were sleeping, Green gained access to an LT-42 "Hobber" type supply ship in Hangar-2. These were mostly small, autonomously operating ships used to replenish the supplies of a spaceship in orbit, and they offered enough cargo space and did not require a high clearance to use.

He quickly bypassed the hangar controls and was on his way to the place where the alien spaceship had been destroyed by White before they could make contact. His plan was simple: he wanted to recover parts of the hardware to examine them and possibly read the memory core of the spaceship or its cybernetic pilots.

Green quickly collected everything he thought he could use and made his way home, hoping no one would suspect anything.

In the quarantine laboratory for the examination of extraterrestrial samples, Green placed all his finds and sealed the room, after which he crept back to the dormitory. He had only been gone for six hours. Tired but happy, he lay down to sleep; his next shift would start in four hours. He was still undecided whether he should tell the others the whole truth. They had surely noticed his absence, but they didn't know what he had done.

The massive LL-99 lands on landing pad 3 in the outer area of the base; due to its enormous size, it would not have fit into any hangar.

When White and his six-man crew step out of the airlock into the hallway, the commanding officers are already waiting for him.

Yellow: "A great new ship!"

White: "It's my ship, and I'm the only one who's going to command it!"

Blue: "Show us your ship."

White: "Only my crew and I are authorised to enter it. Landing zone 3 is now a restricted area, and unauthorised entry will be punished with arrest!"

Black: "Why the attack on the identified spaceship?"

White: "Are you questioning my orders?"

Black: "I just want to apologise."

White: "Of course you do!"

Pink: "There's pizza to celebrate, and of course I'll leave you the place at the table now that you're back!"

White: "That's not necessary, as commander I prefer to have my own table, we are not equal, it would be inappropriate to sit at the same table with you!"

Green: "Glad you're back and doing well!"

White: "Nice but meaningless words!"

Red: "Hey, what's up with you acting like we don't know each other? We're friends!"

White: "Friend wouldn't have locked me in a hangar when I had problems and was huge!"

Black: "It was the only room with enough space!"

White: "Friend would have visited me when I was being treated on Earth!"

Blue: "We're sorry if we hurt your feelings!"

White: "It doesn't matter what happened, now I'm your commander, this base is under my command, I decide everything and you will follow my instructions – if you knew what I know, you wouldn't be able to close an eye."

Black: "Why don't you just tell us!"

White: "That's enough, in my room!"

As ordered, Black and White went to the commander's office. Black had used it before, but he had never really liked being there when he checked the reports alone and sent them to central command.

Black: "We used to have no secrets. We used to discuss problems together and look for solutions!"

White: "The authorisation of the others is not enough, I will entrust you with it as the former head of this base, but you have to keep it secret from the others."

Black: "All right – but I'm not convinced that keeping things secret is the right way!"

White: "We found the signature of the crashed spaceship in several places where our facilities were destroyed, including the station on Borila (P-72946), which we assumed the Blacktron Alliance had destroyed. In total, we were able to detect 12 signatures of these stealth ships in the sectors we control. They come from another galaxy and we assume they are preparing an invasion!"

Black: "What is the evidence for the assumption that they are invaders?"

White: "That's secret, dismissed, and not a word to the others!"

Black sighed. "Yes, Commander!"

Black left the room.

White: "Central computer – new instruction: All assistant robots will only take my commands, instructions from others will be ignored; all doors to areas of the station will ask for the security code in the future."

Computer "Changes have been made!"

Black followed closely by White re-entered the dining room and took his seat.

Blue "What happened?"

Black "I'm afraid the party's over, finish eating and then we'll clean up!"

Yellow "What a warm welcome back!"

Green "Give him some time, he'll be fine!"

Pink "And what if he's not!"

Yellow: "Well, we'll see him in the dormitory tonight!"

Black: "I think he'll be sleeping in a single room."

Red: "That's not how I imagined the reunion!"

Blue: "This is still a research station, not a military base!"

Yellow: "Let's hope it stays that way – his crew doesn't consist of scientists, I know military training when I see it."

Black: "Let's make the best of it, everything is new for him here too, so let's tidy up."

When they were done brushing their teeth and lying together in the dormitory, there was still a need to talk, everything had gone differently than expected – Wies' arrival was less pleasant than expected.

Yellow to Black: "You were the better commander!"

Black: "Maybe not, I took the liberty of questioning direct orders and making decisions based on my experience and your opinion. White adheres to the rules 100% – if you look at it objectively, he is probably the better choice!"

Red: "Please be quiet, I'm trying to sleep!"

Blue: "Where is Green, anyway?"

Pink: "Maybe in the arboretum, he loves botany!"

Black: "I expect that we will continue to work well together as a team with our new commander, and now good night!"

Red: "Sleep well!"

Yellow: "Pleasant dreams!"

Pink yawned, "See you tomorrow."

Blue was already snoring.

There were reasons why the bed of green was empty. His way led him to Hangar-2, he had already put on his space suit. He had to find out something, even if that meant that he broke White's orders. If White wanted to lock him up for it, so be it.

The two KL-6 (Alpha and Beta) are on approach to the planet where the alien spacecraft of unknown configuration crashed.

Black: "We'll land on the construction module that was dropped here two years ago for exploration. If we're lucky, we'll find material there that we can use."

Green: "Why don't we land directly in the line of sight of the crashed ship? There should be a suitable place there that's big enough for both KL-6s!"

Black: "Negative. We'll keep our distance at first and approach on the ground within sight, scout out the area and then make contact as soon as we have clarified the intentions of the strangers."

Pink: "We're approaching the construction module!"

Blue: "It's lucky that no one was here to build the planned base, otherwise the buggies would no longer be there!"

Black: "Beta – initiate landing manoeuvre"

Pink: "Alpha is also preparing to land!"

Black looked at Pink "you secure us and stay with the ships, should something happen you fly to the target area and take a defensive position above us while we return to the landing zone.

Pink "I've only done this in simulations so far!"

Black "You can do it, I trust you!"

With the three buggies, Black, Blue and Green approached the crash site.

From a distance, they could see that the pilots appeared to be a purely mechanical life form.

Pink reported, "A huge spaceship is entering orbit right now."

The commander reported via communication: "This is the command ship Intrepid. Keep your distance from the intruders!"

The spacecraft in orbit activated its weapons.

With a powerful fire volley, the LL-99 destroyed the crashed ship and the two pilots from orbit, before the horrified eyes of the landing party on the surface.

Black "You will have to answer to our new commander for this ! That was not necessary!"

White answers from the bridge of the LL-99 "I am your forgotten comrade, I am your old friend and new commander – if you knew what I know, you would understand!"

Green: "This feels wrong!"

Black: "We have to trust him, he's probably just following orders!"

Pink: "He's changed!"

Blue: "This was to be expected, let's see how it develops!"

Escorted by the mighty LL-99, the two KL-6s returned to base.

Starbase LL-96 in the "Delta Vega" system is now fully operational and serves as a strategic bridgehead for the supply of several research outposts and mining colonies. The threat from the Blacktron Alliance was not realized and the station was continuously upgraded and reinforced.

An automated convoy consisting of three LT-13 "Dyson" Heavy Cargo Ships and an unmanned AL-12 "Barricade" Command Ship is dispatched from the Baby Command Base to deliver the required goods and, on the return journey, supplies for the expansion of the base.

While monitoring the course of the supply fleet from the command center, a strange signal is detected that cannot be assigned to any previously known signal. A probe launched from the AL-12 provides a visual contact, and a Discus-like spaceship has crashed on the second planet in the system, the markings and shape of which are unknown to the baby astronauts.

 After a short consultation, it is decided to launch two KL-6s to probe the situation, one (nickname Beta) with blue and green on board, the other (nickname Alpha) with black and pink.

Meanwhile, the supply convoy is still on its way to starbase LL-96 in the "Delta Vega" system.

Today is a great day our brave Lego Space Babies Ideas project has received a Staff Pick.

But there is also a reason to celebrate for the Babynauts on board, the Central Command on Earth has announced that their friend the White Space Baby that had grown huge for unknown reasons will return.

It had been transferred to Earth to find a solution. Meanwhile, it has received new training in the “Space Academy” and will take over the command of the “base” in the future.

Even if there is skepticism about the new hierarchy, there is joy that they will soon be reunited and there are celebrations at all levels of the base.

After the spaceship was brought from the "Calandra System" to Hangar-2 of CSBCB, the ship was subjected to a visit. Although all the systems looked similar and the operation was familiar, the technology behind it was completely different.

Although the high command on Earth had recommended that only the androids inspect the strange ship, our brave space babies were simply too curious to inspect the ship themselves.

Black: "We need a scan of all systems."

Green: "And we should transfer the computer core to a decentralized memory core with no connection to our main computer."

Red: "I want to take the ship for a test flight!"

Yellow: "We should take it apart to understand the technology!"

Blue: "I could build an adapter so we can control it!"

Pink: "I don't trust this ship, it doesn't belong in our dimension – what if whoever lost it wants it back?"

Even as they sat together in the crew canteen that evening, they were still discussing it vividly, but out of the corner of their eyes they noticed that something was different than usual, the light was flickering, it was barely noticeable but if you looked past the lamps you noticed it.

A later diagnosis showed that the spaceship was imitating an electromagnetic field that affected its power supply, nothing serious but a disturbance that could become a problem in the long term.

After this was reported to the high command on Earth, it was announced that the spaceship would be picked up for further tests and brought to a shielded location on Earth.

Incredibly, we have reached 1,777 supporters, which is fantastic and makes me very happy - I would like to thank all supporters and friends - only together can we get so far. Thank you very much.

The LX-10 approaches the target coordinates in the "Calandra System" with the blue (science), red (control) and yellow (command) space baby on board.

While the team was already on its way with the LX-10, they received a radio message from Central Command that an AL-14 was also on its way to secure them, but that it would not arrive at the scene until two hours after they did.

The LX-10 was inching ever closer to the source of the signal.

Red: "We will reach the sector in five minutes!"

Blue: "Launching sensors!"

Yellow: "We will drop out of hyperspace at the edge of the sector and approach at three-quarters sub-light speed to a distance of 80,000 km, then reduce to one-quarter and conduct intensive scans."

Blue "Roger that – sensors working"

Red "We are leaving hyperspace and will reach a distance of 80,000 km in 40 seconds"

Yellow "First estimates on the origin of the ship!"

Blue "It's old, it's been drifting through space for at least 25 years."

Red "Then why have we only noticed it now?"

Blue "A nearby quasar must have intercepted and superimposed its signal!"

Yellow "Can we deactivate the distress signal!"

Red "Not from here and I advise against going on board until the reinforcements arrive!"

Yellow "Full alert, if we receive the signal now, maybe others will too!"

Blue "I have not found any information about the design in the database"

Red "This doesn't add up, maybe it's a trap!"

Yellow "Stay calm and keep your nerve, how long until our reinforcements arrive!"

Blue "48 minutes!"

Red "Should I circle around the wreckage then we are a less good target!"

Yellow "Do it that way!"

Blue "That means that long before us someone was here so far out!"

When the AL-14 "Falconer" from Central Command arrived a short time later, our brave baby astronauts were greatly relieved. Meanwhile, the analyzes showed that the spaceship had a different natural resonance at the subatomic level, which suggested a parallel dimension – but this raised even more questions than it answered.

The AL-14 took the alien ship, which was an LL054 according to its identification, in tow; they would take it to "Baby Command Base" for further analysis until Central Command on Earth had made a final decision regarding the ship.

When a position signal from a CS (Classic Space) carrier wave was picked up at 4 a.m., the main crew was woken up, very surprised that the signal could not be assigned to a ship in service.

Red "This signal with the amplitude is definitely from us!"

Yellow "But this ship code doesn't exist!"

Green "Maybe a secret prototype"

Blue "So deep in unexplored space!"

Black "Unlikely but we should investigate!"

Yellow "I volunteer!"

Red "I want to go on this mission too!"

Blue "Let's take the LX-10 - our fastest ship!"

Black "Good Yellow, Red and Blue go - just check out the situation - at the first sign of a threat, return immediately and we'll send an armed escort!"

Yellow "Get ready to take off in 20 minutes" Red "I'll take the helm"

Blue "If Yellow leads the mission and Red wants to take the helm, I'll take over the science station!"

Green "Take care of yourselves!"

Black "No unnecessary risk - understood!"

In parallel, the High Command on Earth confirmed the signal that appeared to be coming from the previously unexplored "Calandra System". While the Classic Space Baby Comand Base was still sending its LX-10 "Rapid", the High Command dispatched an AL-14 "Falcon" for reinforcement, but it would not arrive until later.

What would our brave babynauts find there? To be continued ...

A large transporter of the type "Endurance" LT-69 has departed from Earth, hardly any other ship offers so much space on board for cargo, passages and equipment of every imaginable kind.

The administration has concerns after the recent events and sends an expert commission to the Classsic Space Baby Command Base. The assessment of the experts will decide on the next steps of the Central Command and will have an influence on the future of our brave babynauts.

Not much is known about him, he could be a member of the secret service, others rumor that he drew up the plans for the Babynauts' space base.

As it turns out later, it was the job of the man in the green sweater to prepare the Babynauts for a farewell, the 8 visitors took the White Baby, which was still the same size, to Earth to better meet his needs and continue to search for a solution to the problem.

The LL-11 escorted the transporter until it entered hyperspace and headed for Earth.

Unbelievable 1,600 supporters, that's the 50th update - just the right time to bring some friends to the CSBCB. Thanks to everyone who made this possible - together we've come so far.

And here's another look behind the scenes 2022 I have sketched this here - not yet for space babies but for regular minifigures.

I was told by @the invisible brick in advance that the blue background should darken if I want to show things in space (like he does) so I'll try that in this update, even though I really like my light sky blue.

Green and Black are on a mission to the asteroid that nearly destroyed their base and has almost crossed their solar system. They are supposed to carry out a few last experiments and take samples. To do this, they use the LL-9 ½ to collect their data in parallel flight to the rock.

A Blacktron spaceship appears from a hyperspace window opening 10,000 kilometres in front of them and heads for the asteroid on an intercept course.

Green "I'm detecting a power surge - they're charging their weapon!" Black "I'm turning away, send distress signal."

With a quick turning manoeuvre, the Babynauts moved away from the asteroid, which the Blacktron spaceship was approaching head-on.

A bright flash of light was all they saw as the spaceship vaporised the asteroid with its on-board weapons, followed by a shockwave. Only a handful of small debris remained, what a whole squadron of their ships could not do, a Blacktron spaceship could do with ease. After this manoeuvre, the Blacktron spaceship turned off and left the sector via light drive.

Green "All systems are fine we've just been shaken up a bit" Black "Everything's fine" Green "I'm fine and you?" Black "Yes, I'm fine too, they'll hardly believe us!" Green "We've recorded everything!" Black "It will still be difficult to understand for those who weren't there."

What an impressive demonstration of power, even the new LA-12 was no match for this firepower.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like my model will be celebrating 8 days as a staff pick like the "Space Playground", so I'll have to rely on great support like that of @CUBETTARO , @APe Maia and @Santheg . Thank you for promoting this tiny space baby project.
