1000 comments, wow!

No clue everyone was so chatty!  I'm thrilled by the show of support, thanks everyone.

Hey, sorry I don't necessarily get to everyone's projects, though I try to reply to most of the commenters.  Lots of commenters don't have projects, but some do.  If I spend a minute tracking down everyone's projects, then I've just spent 16 hours looking at people's stuff.  Some of you guys I do catch anyway, but others I might miss.  Like today my roof is leaking so I don't have a lot of time to spend on Ideas.

I know, sometimes I post on other folk's projects secretly hoping they'll support mine, but most of the time that doesn't happen.  Occasionally I even call attention to mine, like if they have another ship or something I might compare them, but I try not to push the guidelines too far.

Anyway, thanks again for all the supporters and commenters and sharers!

We can still do it

They changed the rules, but... I probably used more parts than I needed to, we can probably get the part count down to an acceptable level!  So please continue to share & support the Lego Disney Wonder!  Let them know we want more sets like this!

I'm still hopeful, the supporter rate is slowly creeping up, but it is well under what we need to reach 10K in the allotted time.  So: Please support & share!

Hmm, I guess they changed the part count rules

I guess they didn't like having to say "no" to big sets in the review phase so now Lego's created a 3000 brick rule. We're encouraged to redesign our models to fit 3000 bricks. Of course that glosses over the fact that is a ton of work and since I'm happy with the current size about the only result of that work would be to help give Lego free promotion.

I guess they're letting existing models continue (for now), but apparently if this reaches 10K and they like it, then my Lego Disney Wonder would need redesigned quite a bit to fit their new rule.  I guess everyone should vote for the mini one?

Lego apparently already has a pretty close relationship with one cruise line, so the odds have always been slim for this model, but now they're really, really slim.

About the Lego Wonder in Hawaii Photo

I love this photo, and a few folks have commented on it:

(There's a bigger version of it on flickr: https://flic.kr/p/Cqzb5q)

This is a photoshopped (verb, not actual program) version of the real Disney Wonder in Hawaii.  I started with two real photos (one of the Wonder, one of the Lego Wonder), and then edited them in mspaint on the airplane on the way back.  I never intended for this to be the final version, but it looked good enough I've never bothered to do a better job!

You can see that the Lego Wonder is scaled to fit the real Wonder, so the smoke from the stacks and the waves are pretty realistic.  If you look closely you can see bits of the real Wonder in the picture.  The antennas stick out over the top in the back, and the stacks stick out behind the lego stacks a little bit.

This is one of my favorite pictures of her.

Thanks for your support, and please keep sharing folks!

PS: You might also want to check out our blog for more pictures of the Lego Wonder.

15% of the way there! Lets get that 5K extension

Please keep sharing (I know I keep saying that), we're getting a little better support today.  And don't forget to check out my Lego Artoo! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/63523

Almost to 1500!

Current projection is 10K votes by 2020 :(  We'll probably need a little higher pace than that, please keep sharing folks!

Keep sharing!

Well, we're at a steady 7/day or so. Eventually we'll need to do better than that, but every little bit counts!

Well, it slowed - fascinating that the little wonder is 20.7% or so of the big wonder's supporters

One thing I've been noticing for quite some time is that the little wonder has stayed between 20 and 21% of the supporters of the big wonder :)  So about 1/5 of the support.  I find that fascinating, particularly that the number has been stable for quite some time.

Please support the little wonder too, it may have a more realistic shot at being a gift-shop sized model https://ideas.lego.com/projects/128434

It's almost working

"The push" got us about 100 votes so far :)  But we've slipped back to just barely above what we were doing before I spammed everyone :(  So:  More sharing!  Our current glide path is 2020, and the biggest problem with that is it's about 3 years after the project expires :(
