Tim Burton's Gremlins before Christmas?

21 days til Halloween! Here's today's bit of spooky Gremlins trivia...

DID YOU KNOW... Tim Burton was considered to direct Gremlins. Steven Spielberg ultimately decided against it, because at the time, Burton had never directed a full-feature length movie. Years later, Tim Burton did get to produce his own scary Christmas story in “Nightmare Before Christmas.”

The Deaths ends of Christopher Lee

Here's our next bit of spooky Gremlins trivia, as we count down the days til Halloween! 🎃

DID YOU KNOW... Gremlins 2 star Christopher Lee has had some of the most dramatic death scenes in film history. Aside from being electrocuted by Gremlins, he's been decapitated in Star Wars, fallen to his death in Lord of the Rings, shot by James Bond, and turned to dust several times as Dracula.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

As we countdown the days until Halloween, I’ll be sharing some spooky Gremlins trivia — starting off with this one…

DID YOU KNOW that Beetlejuice has actually had a crossover with Gremlins? The ghost with the most made appearances in a Gremlins themed dark ride at Warner Bros Movies World theme park in Australia. A second version of the Gremlins ride was also produced for Germany, where Beetlejuice was swapped out with ALF, the alien life form.

5000 Gremlins!

Thanks to your support, we’ve managed to raise an army of 5,000 Gremlins!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the project so far. We only need 5,000 more votes for a shot at making Gremlins a real LEGO set. Make sure to check back on the project again very soon. The design is getting a few additions in the next few days.

In the meantime, please don't forget to share the project with a fellow Gremlins fans and drop a comment too.

Gremlins at the movies!

My LEGO Gremlins set has two fun Easter eggs represented by these posters in Billy Peltzer’s room.

At the beginning of the movie, Billy walks by the local theater that’s playing the films "A Boy's Life" and "Watch the Skies." The former was the original title for "E.T." and the latter was the original title for a proposed sequel to "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" — two films directed by Gremlins executive producer Steven Spielberg.

Gremlinbusters!

I ain’t afraid of no Gremlins!

Here’s something you may not know about Gremlins and Ghostbusters... Both horror-comedies were released in cinemas on the same day back in 1984. Both movies ended becoming top-grossing films of that year and have become '80s classics.

The Humans of Gremlins

I’ve been working on this special post for a couple weeks now. 😊

A lot of people have been messaging to ask if I can add some of the other human characters into my LEGO Ideas Gremlins set. I’ve been hesitant to add more, especially because Ideas sets have been known to only have 5-7 minifigs. That said, if my proposed set were to include 3 Gremlins, which 3 humans would you like to see included in the set? Let me know in the comments.
