Oversize load trailer video

HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE!

Thank you all for your support. I'm keeping fingers crossed to get to the next milestone within the time limit, but the time is slowly running out.

I've built the trailer I was talking about previously and made a video showing off its features:

This is a good example to how the truck can connect motorised features in the trailer to Technic hub in the tractor. I hope you'll like it.

Trailer design coming - Oversize Load trailer

HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE!

Thank you all for your support. I'm keeping fingers crossed to get to the next milestone within the time limit, but the time is slowly running out.

I'm designing the first functional trailer for the new PoweredUP version of the semi - it's going to be an oversized / heavy load kind of trailer with trailer wheels steering.

Instructions available on Rebrickable!

Hello again everyone!

Thank you all for your support.

As promised, I made the instructions for this model, at least for the tractor. It took some time, but they are now ready.

You can get them for free on Rebrickable:

Getting closer to making instructions!

Hello again everyone!

Thank you all for your support. I'm keeping fingers crossed to get to the next milestone within the time limit.

If you haven't followed my other builds recently, you might have missed it, but I have started making full instructions for some of the builds. Building with Studio is pretty fun and making instructions is an interesting challange as well. Check out my more recent submissions - some of them have free instructions on rebrickable.

I have been postponing coming back to this project because I had various ideas for other projects that I just wanted to check out as soon as possible, but I have finally decided I need to close this project with full instructions.

What was stopping me from starting the instructions was that I didn't make a proper photo documentation of the internal structure and also that the hood wasn't made in a clean way, meaning I had some pieces mounted under tension and slightly bent, especially some pins.

After rebuilding the chassis and solving the issue I made a new video - have a look at the most recent video on my youtube channel. Somehow Ideas platform has issues embedding video in the updates right now, didn't expect that.

It'll take some time, but stay tuned for that if you are interested in building it yourself.

Meanwhile one of my recent submissions, the Small Farm Tractor With Trailer - Manual + RC Model, was featured in weekly newsletter. This one has full instructions on rebrickable as well, so take a look at those as well.

Bump because the platform doesn't seem to like my images

Hello again everyone,

This is literally a bump because right now I noticed that for roughly around a week the platform is not displaying images in my submission description, making them feel incomplete and out of context walls of text, and I believe this is unfair that time is running out for my submissions while the platform experiences this kind of issue just for my account (or maybe other accounts).

I definitely did not remove the photos, nor did I use photos that are not in gallery in my description. Also the moderation team will usually prevent you from submitting description that feels incomplete like this and try to make you fix such issues before the submission goes live.

I hope you will get to read this update. Please check out the free instructions for Cyber Cruiser build on Rebrickable when you have time. Also comment if you have any ideas on what's happening with this whole situation or you are experiencing the same thing with your submission.

Decision to make full instructions for American Semi with Control+ motors

Hello again everyone!

Thank you all for your support. I'm keeping fingers crossed to get to the next milestone within the time limit.

If you haven't followed my other builds recently, you might have missed it, but I have started making full instructions for some of the builds. Building with Studio is pretty fun and making instructions is an interesting challange as well.

I started with instructions for my Cyber Cruiser and they are already available for free on Rebrickable:

https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-56258/SaperPL/cyber-cruiser-small-scale-technic-sci-fi-supercar

Also stay tuned for Formula Race Car with a mini piston V10 that is coming soon to Ideas platform, it was bounced multiple times for various reasons, but I'm hoping for it to get accepted next week. The instructions will be available on Rebrickable soon after that build gets accepted by moderators here on Ideas, so stay tuned for that build.

So I have decided to make full instructions for American Semi with Control+ motors next after those two mini V10 piston builds.

The first step was to figure out how to get Control+ elements into Studio, because those are not there in the parts library. I initially wanted to make the parts on my own, but got stuck when it came to importing the parts with colours and someone pointed out that those parts are available in LDraw library and can be imported to Studio. All you need to do on your own is to add sockets to those part while importing them with Studio Parts Designer.

Next comes the hard part where I have to scrap some of my builds to rebuild the American Semi with Control+ motors and make instructions for it. There are some new techniques I have learned meanwhile so I hope to simplify the construction of the front steering with that.

It'll take some time, but stay tuned for that if you are interested in building it yourself.

Passing 300 supporters

Hello again everyone!

Thank you all for your support - it took some time to get to 300 supporters. I'm keeping fingers crossed to get to the next milestone within the time limit.

By the way - sadly I didn't make it with my submission of a promised before the weekend so hopefully it'll get accepted early next week.

New model created to test and prove that it can be made with Powered Up motors/Technic Hub

Hello again everyone!

I have finally decided to update this idea with model based on Powered Up motors/Technic Hub after I have learned some new building techniques around those new RC building blocks. Now whole RC kit fits inside the tractor!

I will update the full idea description (including video on how it drives) over the weekend, so stay tuned for that.

Thanks once again and I keep my fingers crossed for passing the next milestone soon :)

Blast from the past - when everything was supposed to be driven from the trailer including steering

Hello again everyone!

I figured I did not share this with you yet, and since the platform is about sharing ideas, this might be something worth exploring if you supported this submission.

There was a time in this project when everything was supposed to be driven from the trailer including steering.

The drive clicks painfully as it's motor is behind quite a few gears, but the concept of positioning the servo being virtually kept aligned with the truck is a valid one if someone would like to make a closed trailer and make a detailed truck with a cab interior and maybe piston engine etc in such small scale.

The whole contraption is made possible by utilising two large turntables being kept aligned by axles with small gears and there is a clutch used to transfer drive to the rear wheels of the tractor around the steering axle in the center of the clutch. The amount of gears plus leeway on the clutch makes it so that there's a lot of clicking when changing direction, so this probably should be somehow improved.

Thanks once again and will I keep my hopes for passing the next milestone soon :)
