Congrats on having your 10K Club model displayed at the LEGO House

Dear Brickthing, Arkov, FiveXFive & Lego Junkie,

It has been with great pleasure that we had the opportunity to display your 10K Club project at the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark in the period 17th September to 8th October, 2018.

The display, held in conjunction with the 10 year annivesary of celebrating your creative ideas through LEGO CUUSOO and LEGO Ideas, was a celebration of the dedication and passion of our talented LEGO Ideas members from throughout the years.

To view all the models that were a part of the display and read more about each of the members who sent their models please visit the LEGO Ideas blog. You can also view additional images here

Thank you for taking the time to celebrate this very special community with us!

Kind regards,

The LEGO Ideas Team

LEGO Review Results for Thinking with Portals!

First and foremost, congratulations to Brickthing and Team Jigsaw for reaching 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO, and toward everyone for all of the support of the Thinking with Portals project! The results of the LEGO Review are in and you can see full details on the LEGO CUUSOO Blog.

Review Results for Thinking with Portals!
Our team has thoroughly considered the possibility of releasing this project as a LEGO set according to the criteria of the LEGO Review. Unfortunately the LEGO Review Board has decided that we will not produce this project as a set.

Thank you to Brickthing for the passion and creativity that went into this project, and to all of you who voted so that we would have the opportunity to consider this as a potential LEGO set. We’re sorry to deliver this disappointing news.

How do we arrive at our decisions?
By gaining 10,000 supporters, a fan-submitted project moves from the Idea Stage to the Review Stage, where it earns the opportunity to be considered as a future LEGO® set in a quarterly process called the “LEGO Review.” Gaining 10,000 Supporters is just the first step in this process.

A "LEGO Review Board" composed of professional set designers, product managers, marketing representatives, and other key team members examine each qualified project. They build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product; including factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product, including those developed internally, goes through a similar process and must meet the same standards.

The amount of time this takes varies due to all the factors involved. Unfortunately, this process sometimes means that well-conceived projects that gain just-as-passionate followings have to be turned down. Please note that the LEGO Review Board makes all final decisions on which new sets the LEGO Group will release based on CUUSOO projects.

LEGO Review Update for Thinking with Portals!

Congratulations again to Brickthing and Team Jigsaw for reaching 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO, and toward everyone for all your support for the Thinking with Portals! project.

As of today, the test results are not yet in; we’re still looking into the possibility of releasing a set based on the Thinking with Portals! Project. Once we have a decision, we’ll share it with you here and on the LEGO CUUSOO blog.

Congrats on 10,000 Supporters, Brickthing and Team Jigsaw!

Again, great work with this project, with presenting several viable Portal 2 product concepts, and effectively connecting with an audience that wants to see a LEGO set based on Portal 2 happen.

Congratulations on achieving 10,000 supporters. We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.

What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A "LEGO Jury" composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We'll build concept models, put them in our test chamber, bake them, and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.

The LEGO Review Begins in September
This project qualifies for the quarterly review beginning in September, which will also include all projects that reach 10,000 between now and September 3. For more information about the quarterly review process, see this blog post.

The review is a thorough process and from its start, and can take several months. When finished, we make a "go/no go" decision to develop and sell a product based on the Thinking with Portals! concept.

When the review is complete, we will inform you of our decision. If green-lit, this project goes into the longest phase of the project; the Development phase. During this time, LEGO model designers refine the product and develop it for release, we create the product materials (box, instructions, marketing), and get everything ready for a production run. This also takes several months.

We will post follow-up information and our decision here.

So, what's for dessert?

Congratulations on 5,000 Supporters!

Dear Team Jigsaw,

Congratulations on quickly passing this milestone of 5,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO for the Thinking in Portals project! You're halfway there!

You did a wonderful job of capturing the Portal environment and characters with your renderings in this project. We also like how you have presented several possible concepts for sets that capture the essence of the game.

Note that as a part of our move to streamline the review process, we will not be producing concept models for projects before the review. However, at that time we will serve cake.

Best wishes as you continue on your journey to achieving 10,000 supporters.
