CHALLENGES (FORMERLY CONTESTS)
We've been busy with all sorts of different challenges this year that continued to showcase the diversity and talent of the LEGO Ideas community. In the end, 13 challenges were held and thousands of entries were submitted across exciting categories such as the LEGO Group's 90th anniversary, Black History Month, STEM, Dungeons & Dragons, and many more.
The Top 3 most popular challenges were:
- 90th Anniversary: Micro-Scale Celebrations! - 974 entries
- 50 years of Dungeons & Dragons! - 626 entries
- 90th Anniversary: Space Celebrations - 463 entries
In 2022, we made the decision to rename Contests. Challenges are what we host now and it is a naming convention that we feel better aligns with the effort that goes into all your submissions.
As indicated in previous years, we continue to experiment with the kinds of challenges we run, which has led us to the LEGO Ideas Test Lab x LEGO Pick a Brick challenge, which was an invite-only pilot challenge in which we tested a digital building challenge using a limited Pick a Brick palette of bricks. We were blown away by what fans came up with and we look forward to sharing the outcome in 2023.

ACTIVITIES
2022 has been host to 40 different Activities, where you all have had the chance to engage in mini-builds to get comfortable submitting to LEGO Ideas, open your horizons, and challenge your skills.
As in previous years, the Activity format has also allowed us to run polls to gauge your interest in other things. Notably, we had the amazing opportunity, in collaboration with our partner Target, to look back at previously rejected 10K creations and nominate 3 submissions that stood the chance to become a LEGO Ideas set, as voted by the community. In the end, the striking and nostalgic Viking Village won the votes!
Check out Activities today and find one that you can participate in.

LEGO IDEAS EXPERIENCE
From an experience point of view, developments on LEGO Ideas have been a bit softer than in previous years, as our efforts have instead been focused on LEGO Ideas Test Lab and realizing more fan creativity.
The most notable of changes to the experience has therefore come in recent months as we have introduced new policies and system for nicknames, which extend across the LEGO digital ecosystem. Please make sure to check out the link and, if you have not updated your nickname yet, do make sure you do so before the 16th of January 2023.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Thanks for joining us for yet another year of mesmerizing creativity, community, and fun! It's a joy for us to be a part of. We look forward to what 2023 has in store for us.
