Charlie Chaplin - The Gold Rush 100th Anniversary.
June 26th 2025 marks the 100th Anniversary of the Charlie Chaplin classic "The Gold Rush".
The premiere was held June 26th 1925 in Hollywood's Grauman's Egyptian Theatre.

A short summary of The Gold Rush
The Gold Rush is a silent comedy film written, directed and starring Charlie Chaplin.
The film follows Chaplin's iconic tramp ("The Tramp") who goes to Alaska during the gold rush,
to find wealth. He faces various challenges, including hunger and a blizzard.
The film is known for its iconic scenes, such as Chaplin eating a leather shoe and the "bread dance".
The Gold Rush is considered one of Chaplin's greatest films and a classic of silent comedy.

The film was originally 95 minutes, and was re-released in 1942 as a 72 minute film, because of fps (frames per second) and a few cuts by Chaplin it was shorter.

About my LEGO Idea
I have been a fan of LEGO since I can remember, over 40 years! And a fan of Charles Chaplin just as long. I remember the short films were shown on national television each weekend during the 1980s. And probably during the 1970s as well.

When I went to Charlie Chaplins home in Vevey, Switzerland in 2016. When scrolling through the gift shop there, I wondered "where are the toys?".

Charlie Chaplin is still a very very well known character and why not combine his universal and innocent pantomime with the best toy ever ---> LEGO !

When I first realized that The Gold Rush was approaching its 100th anniversary when I saw it on Blu-ray a few months ago. I thought how to create the most famous scenes and how to articulate the movement of the cabin etc. Started to draw some ABC sketches and tried to "free build" in Studio.
And then I made my picture and what I wanted to include in it.

What is included ?
  • Mountain backdrop that can be clicked into place behind the cabin.
  • The cabin is built on a "mountain top" with 1 small and 1 bigger snow coated pine tree.
  • The cabin itself can be tilted with a small handle behind the wood pile.
  • To create the "dangling scene" the tramp minifigure(TM) is attached to a 4L bar inside the door.
  • The roll dance scene is created with the 2 "rolls" on the table and the 2 included forks.
  • The eating shoe scene is easily created with the included "shoe on plate".
  • On the wall behind the beds and table there is a vintage and time accurate 1925 calendar.
and a shelf with a golden chicken as a homage to the famous scene where Big Jim is so hungry
that he sees visions of the tramp as a chicken.
  • The wood fire stove is with a hinged door that reveals "flames" inside.
  • Kitchen utensils are also included (a frying pan on the wall and a pot on the stove).
  • The wall in front can be completely removed, and so can the snow filled roof.
  • Big Jims claim is equipped with the movie accurate claim sign, the rock on top of the claim
can be tilted to reveal the GOLD! A few loose gold slopes is also included.
  • Big Jim is equipped in a hooded fur coat with a little details to indicate fur.
  • The Tramp (Charlie Chaplin) has a backpack with pickaxe, pan and teapot hanging from it.
  • To make the set complete it has to have a memorable logo sign with the original 1925 movie logo and added "100th Anniversary" to honor this wonderful film with respect to its creator,
Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin.

Thank you for your time!
