8000 THANK YOU!!!

As promised this is the second part of the Winter story update

It was dark and the snow was pounding on John’s face as he opened the door...

He suddenly realized that it was the 2 soldiers that were coming home from their crusade and got trapped in the blizzard. They were desperately looking for shelter!

John invited them in and gave them something hot to drink. They sat by the fireplace and started warming up.

He then quickly rushed downstairs in the watermills mechanism, to makeshift prepare some sort of bedding using straws and whatever else he could find.

The two soldiers, were exhausted and passed out on the mats ZZZzzzzz

Next morning it was Christmas day. The Blizzard had finally stopped. And the sun was shimmering timid in the morning sky.

John woke up early at dawn and went away to bring back a Christmas tree.

When he returned, they all gathered to decorate the tree with red apples

Then it was time to prepare the Christmas feast. Hugh was an excellent cook. He lit up a campfire and started roasting a goose. The aromas were pouring all over the Shire!

When it was ready, they put up a huge offhand table and started eating and drinking

While the company was enjoying themselves singing...

The bandit stole the Christmas tree...

“Catch the bandit”, John shouted but no-one could move from all the eating and drinking that took place earlier..

Though the snow hasn’t quite reached us yet,
here are a few seasonally inspired images of a Winter Story

Winter was with no delay on its way and days had become shorter.

When john woke up that day, he went to the window
and to his surprise everything was covered in white snow.
It was the biggest snowstorm in years in the Shire
that left John, little Tim, William and his son Hugh stranded at the watermill.

The snow kept on falling and falling...

It was time to cut up some wood
and prepare for some cold winter nights to come.

Will was responsible for cleaning the front entrance.

Little Tim was enjoying the snow by tobogganing.

While Hugh was trying out the new skaters,
he had put together, on the frozen part of the river.

As soon as the last light of day diminished they all went inside.

John lit up the fireplace and went straight to bed,
snuggled up under his thick woolen blanket and fell fast asleep.

Agnes curled up and slept comfortably on his blanket.
Agnes had a little kitten near the end of summer, which John named Ida.
Ida was playing with a little red ball of yarn she had stolen from Johns belongings.

And the snow kept on falling and falling...and falling

Suddenly a knock on the door
John woke up as if from a nightmare...
he jumped out off his bed and pondered...
Who could it be in the middle of the night?

To be continued..

4000 THANK YOU!

I decided to celebrate the 4000 supporters with a new playful update in a full summer mood.
Enjoy the Medieval Harvest and listen to some summer sounds 😊

It was the middle of the summer
and the sun was shining bright on the sky.
The days were bigger than the nights by now.

It was the season of harvest
and all the villagers were queuing up
to grind their wheat and corn into precious flour.

Everybody was working hard to keep customers satisfied.
Little Tim & Will were preoccupied with unloading the carts.

Hew was making sure that lines were kept
and everybody got their turn in time.

John was as busy as ever and even though his sister Emma had arrived
to help out he did not have the time to greet her.

Just like little ants everybody was preparing for the upcoming winter

On the other side of the river, the bandit was simply enjoying himself,
just like a harvest fly under a tree shadow.

As Johns medieval Watermill is approaching the next milestone, I made a small presentation of the The Almighty Water Dragon. (Turn the volume ON to listen to its roar)

It was a night like tonight
That the moon was full
And all was quiet...

When out of the deepest depths of the river
the Almighty Water Dragon emerged.

It was the time of the year,
that the dragon appeared
to feast on the light
of the biggest moon.

Before disappearing
again into the darkness
of the first sunlight.
