Chamber No. 3
“This won’t take long”, John remembered thinking to himself before entering the mysterious chamber. Hours had passed since then. Help was not coming. That he was sure of by now. The red warning light inside his helmet lit up--he was running out of time.
Then an idea. A curious one. John grabbed his pincers and held it inside the box. There it was, he could sense it behind him. His own pincers looming a few feet away. He had to try. John remembered his first week at the space academy. How he nearly failed survival training and was almost kicked out.
“Perhaps” he wondered. Had it been so, this would’ve been a different story.
