Update submitted!

Just submitted the update containing the Loftwing and the King of the Red Lions!

A bit bittersweet, this will probably be the last update I can fit in before the project expires. I had some in-progress designs from Breath of the Wild that weren't able to make it in.

After this I'll try pushing the projects around a few websites. I am hoping the upcoming Skyward Sword remaster might draw some interest with the new included Loftwing, but the project expires just before the game releases.

Of course I'll resubmit if we don't get to 10,000 before then! However I do think Lego might announce a Legend of Zelda set for the series' anniversary, like they did for Mario's last year. If that's the case Legend of Zelda projects will no longer be allowed on Ideas.

Either way it's been a wonderful journey and I'm thankfully for the support everyone has provided so far!

The parts are here!

All my orders arrived and I've assembled the models for the next update. There's a few tweaks that need to be made, so a small batch of additional parts were ordered. As long as they arrive sometime before the middle of next week I should be able to have everything all photographed and an update submitted by March 13th!

Parts ordered for Loftwing and the King of the Red Lions

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to give an update that the parts have now been ordered for the King of the Red Lions and the Loftwing. Perfect timing too! Skyward Sword HD was just announced for Nintendo Switch!

I'd assume about two weeks for shipping, at most, and then as long as there's not any missing pieces I can assemble the models and should have the next batch of photos within another two weeks!

Loftwing and King of the Red Lions are both finished!

I just finished up the designs for the Loftwin and the King of the Red Lions. I'll be ordering pieces here in the next week or two and hopefully within a month I'll have content up to cover Skyward Sword and Wind Waker!

Preview of Skyward Sword's content

The King of the Red Lions is completely designed, and now I'm on to working on the Loftwing to represent Skyward Sword. I thought I'd give you guys a preview.

I'm hoping to have at least every 3D game represented by the end of the project. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Working on the next updates

I just finished a side project finishing up a previously on hold model so that I could enter it into the "We Love Sports" contest, now it's back to focusing on this project!

I'm looking at trying to incorperate tribute to all of the 3D Legend of Zelda games, in addition to the original game represented with the main model. I might throw in A Link to the Past, but the Zelda figure is already based on the Smash Bros/Link to the Past/A Link Between Worlds Zelda.

Here's what I'm thinking so far:

  • Original Legend of Zelda: 8-Bit Link Statue
  • Ocarina of Time: Maybe a stable from Lon Lon Ranch with Epona, Lon Lon Milk, and Malon?
  • Majora's Mask: Maybe the Happy Mask Salesman or Skull Kid?
  • Wind Waker: Toon Link and maybe the King of Red Lions
  • Twilight Princess: ???
  • Skyward Sword: Loftwing
  • Breath of the Wild: Champion Link and maybe a tower or guardian (plus the golden Lynel).

If you have any ideas leave them in the comments! I really want this project to be a celebration of the history of the Legend of Zelda series.

New Shield Design

Here's a new design for the shield! There's a much better piece for the gray design on the top part of the shield, but it's not available in grey yet :(

New Lynel photo

Working on all of the photos now! Might take a few days as I've been working this weekend, and after that a update to the entire project takes time to approve, but it's coming soon!

Remember, this is just what I've done using existing printed pieces . . . Imagine what Lego could do with all of their design talent and resources!
