M:Tron vs. Blacktron

I thought M:Tron could go along well with a Blacktron vessel. So I took the Blacktron dropship from my 3in1 creator set proposal Antares and changed it to a more classic Blacktron color scheme. Also I included a magnet in the Blacktron dropship. For me this vessel was best for the job as it may steal stuff from M:Trons, like the buggy or a container.

Furthermore Facebook friend "Chris" made me aware of the fact that M:Tron had trans neon green instead of the trans neon yellow canopies I used in my last update. So I changed them just to see the difference.

The amount of bricks of the M:Tron version with the Blacktron Dropship would still be below 3000 and it would add a lot to playability.

By the way if you haven't seen the 3in1 space creator set proposal "Antares", maybe you like it.
Thanks for your support!

Galaxy Dropship M:Tron

I am ready guys, here is a variant of the Galaxy Dropship in another space theme. This time M:Tron.
I do not know what you would prefer an M:Tron or a Classic Space version. Let me know in the comments, I am really curious to know. At this point many thanks for your support till now.

As to the M:Tron version I changed the stickers as well as the maintenance vehicle. Instead of the gray/yellow vehicle I have rebuilt an older moc of mine, a trailer which may be towed by the small space buggy. On the trailer there is a platform that moves up and down and a gripping arm in M:tron style with a magnet. It moves similar to a crane up and down and rotates. With the magnets it may load the Galaxy Dropship.

Of course I had to build some M:Tron containers. The good thing: the buggy or the lab may still upload to the cargo bay of the dropship, but this time the dropship also has two magnet positions where containers may be docked. Well its the M:Tron world. The picture below shows the magnet holder of the dropship. It swivels up and down as needed.

The amount of bricks is slightly higher. This version would count to approx. 2400 parts. What we could add to this version is the Blacktron Dropship with its cargo bay (a little bit modified so it has magnets). Check my other build at LegoIdeas called Antares, where you will see the Blacktron Dropship. I would propose for the M:Tron world a more classic looking vessel in black.

Playability would be enlarged as Blacktrons would steal the containers and M:Tron would pursue the Blacktrons. This variant would add up approx. 400 to 500 bricks, so it would still be under 3000. I shall render one or two pics and post later on.

Again thanks for the support. Spread the word so we get this project to the next milestone of 1000 supporters. Let us see which other space theme variant could come in next. I do not have a clue yet, any ideas? Leave me a comment. Thx.

Rotate and pan the digital model

I have just uploaded the Galaxy Dropship set to Bricklink's gallery where you may rotate, pan and zoom each moc (or the whole scenario) and view them from every possible angle. It is a digital view like the picture shown here.

Here is the direct link: Bricklink Dropship

On the right upper side you will find a menu square where you may click on the following two possibilities:

- "3D model": allows you to get into the digital file of the total scenario and pan, rotate zoom as you wish.
- "Building steps": I have made a presentation where you may pan, rotate and zoom each of the models on their own. For this click on the "step view 1/8" on your left bottom corner. Then you just choose the model you want to take a look at. You may then go back and choose another moc.

Both methods are good to check the details from different angles. You may give the dropship at Bricklink a like (or a star) too. Forgive me for not showing instructions. Also don't be astonished if the hoses do not show properly. Working hoses on Stud.io is not what I would call easy-peasy and Stud.io has some issues with them.

But the possibility to rotate and pan a moc in the internet is awesome. I hope you like this feature as much as I do.

Have fun!

Colors used

This set proposal uses some new colors. They are not essential but add a lot to the looks. Besides i think it is very important to Lego (and all Legofans) to constantly add new parts and colors. If it where not for the new parts and colors (as well as the Minifigs) I would have quit Lego a long time ago. This makes me stay around.

The following picture shows the parts and their respective new color as well as how many of these new color parts are included.

Talking about color:
I always wondered which space theme is more and which less popular. Classic Space for me is a favorite, but that does not mean it is for other space fans as well. Therefore I would like to render pictures of the "Galaxy Dropship" set proposal in different colors. Maybe even tweak a bit adapting it more to the respective theme. Example: M:Tron would be red, but maybe I would change some things to better suit M:Tron. Let's see.

In other words: I am planning with every 500 supporters to make an update showing another color/theme of this set proposal. So which color/theme is next? Let's wait & see.

Thx a lot for helping this set proposal pass the 100 threshold and crossing fingers for the next one (500 for the color/theme update).
