3 Major Design Updates!

Hi LEGO Fans!

Thanks for supporting my NASA SLS LEGO Project, as an good engineer would do, I've been hard at work trying to update the project as best I could and I've come up 3 major updates to the project that are going to be listed below:

  1. Redesign of the MPCV/LAS (aka the TOP! of the Block 1 :-)
  2. An Upgrade package! So the LEGO Model can now be upgraded to the Block1B (Crew/Cargo) and Future Block 2 Configurations along with the Advanced Boosters!
  3. A Crawler! (Because everyone over here at NASA has been asking for it!)

Check out all of the Major Updates Below! Thanks for supporting the project and please continue to help get the word out about the project!

MAJOR DESIGN UPDATE #3

Hi LEGO Fans!

Thanks for supporting my NASA SLS LEGO Project, as an good engineer would do, I've been hard at work trying to update the project as best I could and I've come up 3 major updates to the project that are going to be listed below:

3. A CRAWLER! (Because everyone over here at NASA has been asking for it!)

How does the SLS get anywhere? On the NASA Crawler! The Crawler will drive underneath the SLS, pick up and then drive it at an a astonishing 1 mph (ish) to the Launch Pad! Well any good LEGO SLS set needs its owner Crawler!

You can find out more about the NASA Crawler and its historic use at NASA here:

and you can see how much bigger Block2 Cargo is going to be on the SLS with the Upgrade package!

MAJOR DESIGN UPDATE #2

Hi LEGO Fans!

Thanks for supporting my NASA SLS LEGO Project, as an good engineer would do, I've been hard at work trying to update the project as best I could and I've come up 3 major updates to the project that are going to be listed below:

2. A UPGRADE package! So the LEGO Model can now be upgraded to the Block1B (Crew/Cargo) and Future Block 2 Configurations along with the Advanced Boosters

The beautiful thing about LEGO is it's adaptability which goes right along with the idea behind the Space Launch System which will adapt to all future mission with different configurations after its initial launch. So I had to come up with a package to go along with my original LEGO idea which uses the Block 1 configuration to update it to the future configurations Block 1B (Both the Crew and Cargo configurations) and the massive Block 2 Cargo along with the planned advanced Boosters!

MAJOR DESIGN UPDATE #1

Hi LEGO Fans!

Thanks for supporting my NASA SLS LEGO Project, as an good engineer would do, I've been hard at work trying to update the project as best I could and I've come up 3 major updates to the project that are going to be listed below:

1. REDESIGN of the MPCV/LAS [aka the TOP! of the Block 1] :-)

I wanted to redesign the MPCV/LAS area to get away from the difficult 'double wrap' decal which was very difficult to apply correctly, and honestly not very 'LEGO'. So I came up with this redesign incorporating a white LEGO wheel piece, a straight beam and LEGO bands to fill in the piece gaps. I think it looks great and i hope you all like the redesign!

It's like a baby rocket with his grandpa!

Made another visit to the US Space and Rocket Center today. Photographing the Lego SLS with the life size Saturn V looks like a family photo :-)
