Amtrak Superliner

A brilliant scale-recreation of Amtrak's finest coaches, all lined up behind a rented diesel locomotive! I made this set with a lotta hard work and detail attention... at least as far as I could go without getting bored. I included a lot of interior details as well; mostly fully poseable seats and opening compartments in the coaches, and a more in the cab for the engine, including two engineers!

Wheels on coaches are slip-resistant, and the couplers are guaranteed to never snap during transit. I based most of my design off childhood experiences and a picture I found on the internet, please forgive the inaccuracies and improved legroom in my designs, I was getting claustrophobic remembering these glorified sardine cans.

You'll also notice my train designs are wider than usual Lego. The ten-stud width seems more to scale for me, and allows much more realistic room for passengers to walk around and sit.

I was especially eager to see if Lego may consider selling Lego Amtrak trains that use actual crome colored bricks. It's not likely, but worth a shot. I personally think they'd sell well. While I made the main color on these coaches simple metalic silver, the 1x2 bricks with grills are the only actual crome colored pieces to keep production cost down while maintaining product's shine and quality.
