Ace Attorney

This courtroom was based upon the one from the Ace Attorney series. If it advances to the review stage, I ask LEGO to consider releasing this set branded as an Ace Attorney set. If not, then the set can simply be released as "Justice Courtroom". Now, given that James Bond of all things is soon becoming a LEGO set, one cannot argue against the unsuitability of an Ace Attorney set. A sepearate Ace Attorney project was submitted to LEGO Ideas as short ago as April 2018! Anyway, here is a description of what Ace Attorney is for those that don’t know, as well as a better look at the figures / the rest of them / the set afterwards:

Ace Attorney, known in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban (逆転裁判, lit. “Turnabout Trial”) is a series of visual novel adventure video games developed by CAPCOM. The first entry in the series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, was released in 2001; since then, five further main series games, as well as various spin-offs (Investigations; The Great) and high-definition remasters for newer game consoles, have been released. Additionally, the series has seen adaptations in the form of a live-action film and an anime, and has been the base for manga series, drama CDsmusicals and stage plays.

Ace Attorney follows the adventures and misadventures of various defence attorneys, including Phoenix Wright, his mentor Mia Fey, her sister Maya Fey, and his understudies Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes, as they investigate cases and defend their clients in court; they find the truth by cross-examining witnesses and finding inconsistencies between the testimonies and the evidence they have collected. The cases all last a maximum of three days, with The Judge determining the outcome based on evidence presented by the defence attorney and the prosecutor. In the spin-off series Ace Attorney Investigations, the player takes the role of prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, and in the spin-off series The Great Ace Attorney, they play as Phoenix’s ancestor Ryūnosuke Naruhodō.

The series can be played from the beginning on Game Boy AdvanceNintendo DSNintendo 3DSNintendo WiiNintendo SwitchMicrosoft WindowsiOS and Android.

This set is primarily inspired by the story arc Rise From the Ashes from the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. The set consists of (see images above) a courtroom: featuring the Judge’s bench, the tables of the defence attorney and prosecutor, the witness stand, the viewing gallery, a lineup area, and, of course, the courtroom doors, as well as a miniature gavel.

The minifigures included in the set (all featuring double-sided faces) are:

  • Phoenix Wright
  • Miles Edgeworth
  • The Judge
  • Lana Skye
  • Ema Skye
  • Damon Gant
  • Det. Gumshoe
  • Franziska von Karma
  • Maya Fey / Mia Fey (channeled form)
