New steps for the Linderhof castle model! As always: Don't worry if you don't have exactly the right parts. Use different colors or similar parts. Have fun!

2000 votes! + Linderhof - Instructions Part 2

We've reached 2000+ votes! Thank you so much for your support and nice comments, I'm glad you like this idea. It is still a long way to go but we can make it!

And now for something completely different: Here are the first two steps of the Linderhof castle model.

Linderhof - Instructions Part 1

To sweeten the waiting time and gather additional support for the project I designed a smaller companion model. It's castle Linderhof, another castle of Ludwig II. It's smaller and not placed on a hilltop (but in a nice park) but beautiful as well and he liked it very much. Todays picture shows how the first part of the model looks like.

I will post instructions for it and further parts of the model step by step so stay tuned!

And of course don't forget to support the Neuschwanstein project – thanks for your backing so far!

Micro Build - Instructions Part 3

Here we go - this completes the instructions for the 50 parts micro build of Neuschwanstein!

Have fun and support the project! :-)

Micro Build - Instructions Part 1

Since we still have to wait a little bit for the real thing, I made a micro build of the castle for you. It's a mere 50 parts (exactly) and might be a nice little deco piece. I will post building steps here in the next updates.

For now here are the parts you will need. Colors can be changed if you don't own some of the parts, e.g. blue instead of dark grey, green for dark green or red for orange.

If you want you can try building your own model from these parts without instructions...?! Otherwise just stay tuned for updates. And maybe you can even gather some additional support for the project? :-)

Main Picture

There has been an update of the main picture of the project! That's because the old one was too similar to an actual LEGO box design which could lead to misconceptions. :-)

No problem though, now there is a completely new picture. I also switched the LDD rendering of the castle in the picture for a better one made with POV. If you prefer the LDD look though you can see it here:

Thank you for all your support so far! We can make it.

Ludwig II Minifigure

What would a LEGO model of Neuschwanstein be without a minifig of its commissioner and lord of the castle Ludwig II of Bavaria? Ludwig was very interested in arts and culture and a big fan of the operas of Richard Wagner. A lot of details and rooms in his castles were inspired by these. Ludwig payed for the construction of his dream castles with his own fortune and a lot of debts... His birthday is August 25, 1845. One might say that he immortalized himself through his astonishing castles.

So this could be a nice addition to a set of the castle!

Lookout from Mary's Bridge

The narrow filigreed Marienbrücke (Mary’s Bridge) spans the Pöllat Gorge and shows a beautiful view of the castle. King Ludwig II admired his dream castle from this bridge. It leads directly over a waterfall and you shouldn't be afraid of heights when you cross it! But of course that's no problem of this LEGO model which needs just a few extra bricks. :-) Have fun!
