Yellow Steamer

This was just a spur-of-the-moment kind of project. I built this whole project today. It wasn't really inspired by anything. However, there was a slight inspiration that came from the famous Rocket steam locomotive.

The Yellow Steamer project is 424 pieces. There are two engineers included with this project. Interestingly, the cab section in the steam locomotive is unable to fit any engineers inside. That's why the controls are practically on the outside of the locomotive.

Because the steam locomotive is unable to fit engineers inside it, the engineers have to stand on the tender. Behind this standing area for the engineers is a pile of coal. But this pile of coal is no ordinary pile, because it is actually a "dummy" version of a Power Functions battery box.

I had to make room for Power Functions, but I couldn't make room for the engineers inside the cab because of the motor that would go inside the steam locomotive.

The only items that are needed to power the locomotive are sets 8883 LEGO® Power Functions M-Motor and 88000 LEGO® Power Functions AAA Battery Box. However, if you want to change the speed instead of having it at one constant speed, us the 8878 LEGO® Power Functions Rechargeable Battery Box instead of the other battery box.
