Light Rail Train With Station and Level Crossing

Here is a proposal for a new and exciting topic, namely a light rail for Lego City. The idea is inspired by the new light rail in Copenhagen, Denmark, which will open in 2025.

The set consists of three parts, a station with two tracks, a light rail train and a level crossing. At the station there are two side platforms with ticket machines, overview maps and emergency telephones, as well as trash cans and a fire hydrant on each platform. There is also a half roof and stamping machines at the entrances to the station. The platforms are constructed using Lego City Road Plates and there is level-free entry to the train. At the station there is a level-free crossing for pedestrians and cyclists.

The light rail has a electric motor and remote control which is found in the middle car and has, as in reality, a control cabin at each end of the train.

The level crossing is also equipped with remote control with a receiver, battery box and an electric motor and uses the second remote control channel on the remote control. All 4 booms are controlled by only one electric motor. The building for the level crossing also supplies the light rail with 'power'. Here there are windows with 'metal' grilles, there will be pad printing on the glass. The side of the building can be opened for easy access to the battery box. The Power on switch can be accessed via the door.

In addition to two switch tracks and two curved rails, there is also a set of straight Lego standard rails.

There are two different types of mast for the conduction wire, a type with only one outrigger and a type of mast with double outriggers.

Special construction technology

SNOT technique and Upside down elements have been used. All decorated elements are pad printing.

Why could this be a good LEGO IDEAS set?

My idea could be a great Lego set, because the model is displayable in its beauty and playable because it is motorized and runs on classic Lego train tracks. For these reasons, this model could be a great set to have.
