CHARMED - Halliwell Manor and the Book of Shadows

My work “CHARMED – Halliwell Manor and the Book of Shadows” is based on the TV series of the same name (Charmed), which was produced from 1998 to 2006.

Charmed is a fantasy drama TV series by Constance M. Burge produced by Aaron Spelling. The plot is about a trio of sisters (Halliwell sisters) known as the Charmed Ones, the most powerful witches of all time, saving innocent lives from evil magical threats.

Halliwell Manor is a victorian-style mansion which is fictitiously located in San Francisco. However, the real original building, which is inhabited but has also become a place of pilgrimage for fans, is located in Los Angeles.

The fictional property is said to have been built on a spiritual nexus in 1898, but was almost completely destroyed in the great San Francisco earthquake in 1906 and then rebuilt by the ancestors (Warren Line) of the main protagonists (Halliwell sisters) of the TV series. The real house survived the great fires of Los Angeles in January of this year (2025) unscathed.

This mansion was one of the most important locations in the series as it was the home of the sisters and the place where they kept the Book of Shadows. It was therefore also the setting where the Charmed Ones performed their magic, but also a setting where magical battles and important events often took place. Almost all seasons end with the entrance area of Halliwell Manor, where the door closed in various ways.

The Book of Shadows is the magical tome of the Warren Line of Witches to which the Halliwell sisters belong. It is the most powerful and coveted Book of Shadows in existence and is over 300 years old. The Book has been passed down every generation ever since it was created by Melinda Warren in the 17th century.

For fans, the book is one of the most important items from the series and a sought-after collector's item. There is little merchandise, but many create their own, very impressive works of art!

Prue Halliwell(seasons 1–3) – the eldest Halliwell sister and part of the Charmed Ones. A witch with the active power of Telekinesis, Astral Projection, Telematerialization, Posession (as spirit) and Wisping (as spirit).

Piper Halliwell (seasons 1–8) – the second-eldest Halliwell sister and part of the Charmed Ones. A witch with the active power of Molecular Immobilization, Molecular Combustion and Molecular Acceleration.

Phoebe Halliwell(seasons 1–8) – the younges Halliwell sister and part of the Charmed Ones. A witch with the active power of Premonition, Levitation, Empathy and Psychic Reflection.

Paige Matthews (seasons 4–8) – a half-sister of Prue, Piper and Phoebe. Paige had the same mother, but her father was a Whitelighter (a very powerful combination). She became part of the Charmed Ones. She has the active powers of a witch and of a Whitelighter: Orbing, Telekinetic Orbing, Healing, Hovering, Glamouring, Photokinesis, Orb Shield, Cloaking and Omnilingualism.

Leonardo „Leo“ Wyatt (seasons 1–8) – he is assigned to the Charmed Ones as a Whitelighter to guide, help and protect them. He was born in 1914 and died in 1942, but was named a Guardian of the Light (Whitelighter) by the Elders in the afterlife. The powers of a Whitelighter are Orbing, Hovering, Literary Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Glamouring, Healing, Photokinesis, Thermokinesis, Sensing, Cloaking, High Resistance, Regeneration, Immortality, Omnilingualism and Mediumship.

Cole Turner / Belthazor (seasons 3-5, (7)) – he was born 1885 as the son of a human and a demon, which makes him half-demon. Cole is the human alter-ego to the demon Belthazor. Belthazor is a very mighty demon with the power of Energy Ball, Super Strength, Shimmering, Telekinesis, Incineration, Apportation, Illusion Castion, Sensing, Transformation, Technopathy, Immortality, High Resistance, Molecular Adjustment.

As a fan of Charmed I picked this IP for the 90s challenge. The LEGO Ideas team added the IP specifically at my request. It was pretty clear to me, that I had to build the Halliwell Manor. Due to the part limit of 5000 pieces, a full dollhouse model in minifig scale seemed impossible to me, which is why I designed the pull-out displays. This gave me the opportunity to give the Book of Shadows as central a role as the Manor itself.

In the challenge, my entry was the one with the very most fan support out of all 196 works. Only 4 works managed to get over 100 comments, only 3 over 200, only 2 over 300 and only my Halliwell Manor had significantly more than 400 comments! I managed to inspire a lot of fans, which is why many had created an account just to support my work. My most successful post on social media had over 3500 likes in a very short time and was shared and commented on hundreds of times. Nevertheless, my work did not make it into the voting. That was actually very devastating for me. The fan support had made me confident, but the disappointment was all the greater. I was actually in a bit of a low afterwards. But the fan support did not let up after the decision for other works was made. That gave me courage and strength to try again. I had to submit the project as an idea!

However, I was not longer tied to the 90s, which is why I was able to include additional characters fans demanded. This is why I added Paige, Leo and Cole resp. Belthazor. Without the time pressure of the challenge, I was also able to rework it a bit, for a more efficient part use. I optimized the bases of the floors, reduced a few plants, and enhenced the Book of Shadows. I designed it completly new to make it openable for including two 6 x 12 tiles in the style of single pages (Belthazor and Whitelighter). I also included the Empyreal Sword as well as a few parts to show Belthazor's power of Energy Ball and Leo's power of Hovering.

I believe, the enhencements will be appreciated by the Charmed fans!

Halliwell Manor is a very popular object among fans. However, there is very little on offer. Many therefore make their own version. A LEGO model that any fan can easily put together would fill a gap in the market that would not only be popular among Charmed fans.

In general, Charmed fans have very little merchandise, which is why everyone is craving it. Especially fans of the original series. This set would give fans something they have been hoping for for a long time.

Furthermore, it is a really great LEGO model, and due to it's minifigure scale it would easily fit into any LEGO town or any collection of modular buildings.

I have seen from my posts on social media that there is a great desire for this set and I would be very happy to have a LEGO version of Halliwell Manor myself.
