The Atomium is the most emblematic buildings of Brussels and Belgium. Originally constructed for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair, it represents an iron unit cell with its 9 iron atoms, magnified 165 billion times.
As Belgian I was wondering to build it in LEGO.
I reduced the size of the Atomium building roughly by 300, meaning my Atomium in LEGO represents the an iron unit cell magnified by ~550 millions.
The atomium with LEGO
I believe this would make a great Lego set because it is a perfect decoration and a beautiful model of a prestigious building.
Others people have already built the atomium with Lego bricks but the scale of this one is better adapted for a LEGO set.
Comparison between the original and this one:
The original stands 102 meters but this one is only 30 centimeters.
The real building have 3 holders to secure its stability. This LEGO one haven't any because it is more beautiful and more impressive without them. Moreover it is stable as it is and I don't care about the security of the visitors.
