This Architecture themed model of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece is a moderately sized display piece at just over 500 pieces. It stands on a mock Acropolis that serves as one, a nod to the location on that most famous hill, and two, as a functional space to hide some of the more deteriorating columns within the structure of the model. The entranceway is still standing, but slowly becoming more and more separated into individual bricks, as is the rest of the floor, and the roof lines in general. The spears are a callout to the Goddess Athena, and there are bricks in the base that make up parts of the Greek flag. I built this set because I had yet to see the temple rendered well in LEGO, and felt that as someone with an architectural design degree I could do the building justice. I think this model fits perfectly into the LEGO Architecture theme, and I'm excited to see what others think of this as well.
