Ratchet & Clank - 20th Anniversary

First released in 2002, Ratchet & Clank launched a franchise that would become a mainstay on Playstation consoles for the next 2 decades. Last year saw the release of Rift Apart for the PS5 which quickly became one of the best-selling entries in the series, bringing it back to the forefront of the game industry. Now as the series is about to celebrate its 20th Anniversary in November this year, there would be no better time to release a Lego set to commemorate the launch of the original game.

This product idea consists of a model of Ratchet's Blarg Starfighter, which he gets his hands on in the later half of the first game, a sleek spaceship that's fast enough to chase after the villainous Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek. The fighter on display is a combination between the in-game model and the original concept art, with its sleeker engine exhausts and nose cone details. The ship has a cockpit that can be removed to reveal a detailed pilot's seat and controls.

The ship also comes with a display stand, an information plaque in-line with other Lego collector's sets, brick-built crate props from the game, and an assortment of weapons, including the famous Omni-Wrench 8000 and deadly Gadgetron Pyrocitor.

I think this set would make a great piece for collectors, fans of the game series and videogames in general, but the set's playability would also be a great fit for children too! It would make a great companion piece to the Horizon Zero Dawn set, a fellow Playstation franchise.
