This sculpture is a tribute to Queen's charismatic lead singer Freddie Mercury. November 2021 will mark 30 years since Freddie's passing, so this is the perfect time to honor him in LEGO!
The design captures what was arguably the peak of Queen's popularity, when in 1986 they held a free televised concert at Wembley Stadium in London. Freddie wore what has since become an iconic outfit featuring a bright yellow jacket and white pants. Also included is the unique mic stand that became a signature part of Freddie's performances.
The model is free standing, but might benefit from being secured to a nice brick-built black plinth with an inscription.
'Gimme, gimme, gimme... Fried Chicken!" is a tongue-in-cheek line from Queen's single "One Vision", released around the same time.
