This project is the result of my three passions: the mountains, mtb and lego! The aim was to represent the dynamics and fun of mountain bike descents as I have experienced them many times!
The set represents a high mountain landscape with a steep slope, typical flora and fauna and the other characteristic elements: peaks, debris slides, alpine meadows at high altitudes, a few trees lower down and steep rock faces.
And of course there is also a single track that the bikers can use for a spectacular downhill: three bikers are racing down doing stunts with their beautiful bikes and bright clothes!
The single track presents many typical difficulties and obstacles: a steep section, a jump, switchbacks, high steps, boulders and stones.
The bikers also have all the necessary equipment: full-face helmets, backpacks, water bottles and smartphones to record the ride and take beautiful photos. But the bikers are not alone because nearby there are three chamois grazing on the grass and an eagle circling in the sky.
The project consists of approximately 2600 pieces but is not optimized. An experienced builder could probably build it with 2000 pieces or less. It was complicated trying to replicate the mountain structures in a way that actually resembles that landscape. It helped me to have done many rides in the high mountains with my bike. And it was a pleasure to relive them while building the set.
I think this could be a great lego set because it represents a beautiful high mountain landscape and is therefore an ode to sustainability and wild nature: it could stimulate admiration and respect for the nature. Plus it would be a set you can play with: you could position the bikers statically wherever you like or guide them along the single track in a funny downhill, do lots of stunts, stop to drink and take some nice photos of the landscape or some selfies with friends; you could also move the chamois along the slope, fly the eagle over the peaks or reposition the trees where you prefer! It would be even possible to add a climber that is scaling the tallest peak or a paraglider that is going to take off from the clearing at the top. You could use your imagination to create many adventures!
