Bridge Meeting

Inspired by the bridges over the Amsterdam canals, this set shows the thrill and excitement of meeting someone you know from the other side of the water. The flowers showcase the joy of such a moment and are, of course, a nod to the Dutch flower industry. Especially the tulips in the basket of the bicycle. The bike is (illegally 😉) parked against the bridge railing, completing this charming scene. Three bird friends are witnesses to this spring moment. One of them is a pigeon that flew in from the square (Dam).

I built this set with the bike in mind. I always love walking over the bridges in Amsterdam and seeing all the different bikes parked against the railings. But then the scene grew, and I added the flowers and the two minifigures meeting each other.

The set is small (240 parts) and should therefore be cheap, which makes it a suitable gift for someone special. It is meant as a cute little addition to everyone’s LEGO collection. The bridge could be added to a city or just stand on its own. The four lampposts and the front light of the bike can be lit up with lights, making this set a pleasure to look at in the evenings too. Above all this set is a great memento for everyone else who is a fan of the Amsterdam canals.
