The updated images are here! After multiple changes, it is clear to see the differences from the original submission to the current idea. Don't forget to spread word of this idea, because that's how products like this get to 10k. Thanks for the support! (Yes, I'm aware I misspelled Stephen in the new description, if only Ideas does spell checks in their reviews)

Update #5: Updated Dip-mobile

Old Model:

New Model:

Just when I thought I wouldn't have time to update the Dip-mobile, I proved myself wrong. Now everything has been updated in one way or another in this idea, and I am currently working on the new photos for it. Some of the changes made on the Dip-mobile are:
  • The broom mechanism has been moved forward and uses different pieces.
  • A proper hood has been added, grill has been rebuilt, and headlights have been added.
  • The doors can now properly open.
  • The tube in the back is visible, with Dip shown inside

With that, I feel like this idea is essentially complete. There is no more major changes I can do to this idea. With that, now is the right time to inform everyone on the Internet. Show the fans and people who worked on this movie the idea, and I guarantee it will make it to 10k supporters. Show Stephen Spielberg, show Robert Zemeckis, show Christopher Lloyd and Charles Fleischer! (R.I.P. Bob Hoskins) The movie has marked itself in legacy, and I feel like it would be a great idea for LEGO Ideas. I will update the photos as soon as I can. Thanks for the support!

Update #4: Updated Exterior and Sign

The next update for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit: ACME Factory" has been made! This update will likely be the final one for the exterior of the build. This is due to the changes fixing everything about the original build, and I don't know how to improve it. The changes made are:
  • The ACME Factory's top starts out flat then becomes slanted.
  • A far more accurate ACME sign
  • The ACME sign is now lower in the build
  • Removal of some tiles for aesthetic
  • Smarty (Leader of the Toon Patrol) has minor updates (stud on head is now brown, and has a round tile in the back of his head)

With this, I believe everything is almost finalized. The last change needed is the dip-mobile, but it will be awhile before I get to that. So many changes have been made to this idea, that I am going to update the pictures soon, as well as the description. It is crazy to see how many changes have been made to the exterior, considering I thought that I was done when this was summitted. Like my other projects, supporter stagnation has hit this project, and I know there is an audience for this. Please tell everyone about this idea and to support it, because one day it can become a reality. To conclude this post, I am going to show all the changes from the original build, and show a picture of the real life building. Thanks for the support, and let's make this idea reach 10k supporters!

Update #3: Updated Roof and Exterior

The third update for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit: ACME Factory" has been made. For some fun, I took this photo in the same position as the original photo so that all the changes are obvious. The biggest change in this update is the roof, now being far more accurate to the real life building. Initially, I thought this decision was odd, but when I saw the clip from the movie, I knew it has to be updated. The roof is now mostly hidden behind the brick exterior on the front and back side, and is a more accurate size. The height of the building also had to be changed so that the slopes on the top are more gradual than forced.

The other change happened with the exterior, specifically the corners of the ACME Factory. The corner change was made in update #1, and although I thought it was an improvement over the original, it felt lackluster. One reason is because I accidentally had the wrong colors selected for the new ingot pieces. This made it look more dull, so I quickly fixed it back to the red color. Also, the ingot pieces don't work well when mashed with other tiles, so I reverted back to the 1x2 tiles. I also implemented a more consistent brick pattern that makes the corners stand out better and more natural.

Three updates in, and this idea has looked different than what was originally submitted. This just shows that sometimes the best approach is to keep moving forward. There will be another update eventually, but I need to figure out how to do it. As of writing this, there are only two things that I feel like need to be updated, the Dip-mobile and the ACME sign on the front. Once I find out how to fix those, I might be satisfied with how this idea turned out. Don't forget to tell everyone to support this idea, we're over 200 supporters in and still counting. If this idea is shared to the right people, it can easily reach 10k supporters, all it needs is a voice. Thanks for the support!

Update #2: Updated Benny

New Model:

"I can't believe they locked me up for driving on the sidewalk. It was only a couple of miles." - Benny the Cab

The second update to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit: ACME Factory" has been made! Before I start on the update, I would like to thank all the supporters to making it to 200 supporters! This is the most supporters any of my ideas has, and it really means a lot to me.

Now onto Benny, when I made this idea, I was not, and still not, a vehicle person in LEGO. This can still be seen through my other idea submissions, with this idea being the only one with vehicles. However, I wanted to update the vehicles in this idea because they did not look right to me after time has passed. With me finding out how to do details properly and make custom prints, I feel like it was time to update Benny.

Old Model:

Looking at the old model and then the new model, VERY noticeable changes have been made. The new Benny is far more accurate to the movie, having more accurate proportions, the spare tire in the back, and a more accurate color scheme. Another big update to Benny is that there are new doors that can open all the way. This was originally brick built in the old model, but thanks to finding out how to make custom prints on stud.io, I can use normal car doors. Speaking of prints, Benny's mouth has also changed. Originally an upside-down Cars print, this new print is far more accurate of an expression that Benny would make in the movie.

Another notable change is that Benny is now ten studs wide now instead of eight. This was done so that two minifigures can fit better in Benny, as well as providing more detail. Thankfully, despite this size growth, Benny can still fit into the ACME Factory, as well as drive in it.

If any supporters have been keeping up with the updates, a lot of the original idea has been modified. The only things left that have not been updated is the interior, which I still like as of now, and the Dip-mobile, which will be updated soon. Because of all these changes, I am going to update all the pictures in the view page. Hopefully, more people will find this idea and support it. And p-p-p-please tell others to support this idea! That is how projects get to 10k supporters after all. Thanks!

Update #1: Updated Exterior and Minifigures

I am proud to announce the first changes to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit: ACME Factory" have been made! I primarily made these changes due to the project I have been working on. I have gotten better at building and made some discoveries along the way. Both of these needed the update too to be more accurate and clean.

Updated Exterior:

The exterior has notable changes, primarily the bricks. When working on the project mentioned earlier, I made a discovery. The ingot piece in red works incredible as a brick piece, even more so than tiles! So, I decided to replace the old tiles and plates with the ingot pieces. The exterior walls also have been modified to have a cleaner look, being more maroon with minor red. This especially holds true to the corners of the ACME Factory, which is something I wanted to fix for a good while. However, I can now comfortably say that I'm satisfied with the exterior for now.

Updated Minifigures:

Likewise, the minifigures were something I wanted to update for a while, especially Roger and Smarty, the leader of the Toon Patrol. Unfortunately for me, stud.io does not contain the bunny hood piece, which would make Roger look far better. Therefore, I improvised and added his hair and ears as two different pieces. Smarty, on the other hand, I thought still looked fine, but the absence of eyes bothered me. I was able to make two characters in my upcoming project have brick built heads with eyes, so I knew I could do it to Smarty. With a quick modification, Smarty looks the way he does in the picture.

Other things worth mentioning is that Eddie Valiant and Judge Doom have gotten updated torsos and legs, being more accurate to the movie. Something I forgot to mention in the original description was some of the accessories in the set. Eddie has the toon hammer and Jessica Rabbit has Roger's love letter, which has a big role in the movie. I should say that these minifigures are not the final product, rather just an idea. LEGO could easily make molded heads for both Roger and Smarty, just like what they did with the Looney Tunes Minifigure Series and the Winnie the Pooh set. So don't let that make someone not support this idea because of that.

I want to thank those who have supported this idea. At the time writing this, this idea is almost at 200 supporters, which would be a new high for myself. I will eventually do more updates to this idea, but I would need some experience with building vehicles first. For now, That's all folks!

WE'RE ON YOUTUBE!

I am making this update to thank one of my supporters of this project, @Jayro. They posted a video of this idea submission on their YouTube channel (ElectricJay) and currently has more views than the total amount of supporters. If this video spreads, this project could reach 10K supporters and potentially become a real LEGO set! If you came from the video, don't be afraid to make an account and support this idea! We need all the people we can to make LEGO Who Framed Roger Rabbit a reality, and this video is a great start!

Thank You for 100 Supporters!

Thank you all for supporting this idea and getting the deadline extended! It makes me glad to see that there are others who want this forgotten classic as a Lego set. I've even seen some supporters say they have never seen the movie, yet like the build. That makes me happy that this idea is like by both MOC builders and fans of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Now to make this idea get more supporters fast, spread news of it faster than the Roadrunner! This is my second project reaching this milestone, and I hope to add more in the future. Thanks!
