Hi Guys
I hope you like my new creation. I've recreated the Colosseum in Rome, Italy.
About the model
The colosseum is an amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy.
Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in AD 72, and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir Titus.
The Colosseum could hold, it is estimated, between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators.
It was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles.
Inspiration
I love architecture. My profession is to draw plans of buildings. Antique buildings are astonishing to me, because
they were able to create those beautiful forms, while they were really limited with tools.
I think this would be great as a display set. It is an eye-catcher and everybody would know it because of it's shape.
What I couldn't arrange properly in Lego digital designer was the atachement of the circle to the ground.
It should work properly by using 2 plates 1x2 modified at each of the four sides, when using real bricks
Some facts about the model
Piece count: 1120
Base plate 32x32 studs
Minifigs: 2
