The Palace on the Isle is one of the most recognizable and historic buildings in Warsaw. It is located on an island on the Lake Łazienkowskie in Warsaw's Royal baths park. It's construction began in 1772 at the request of King Stanisław August Poniatowski.
The palace is an example of classicist architecture and was built as the summer residence of the king. It is an elegant structure with external columns, which has a characteristic symmetrical facade. The interior of the palace is equally impressive, filled with furniture, paintings and decorations that are examples of 18th-century art.
The Palace on the island has served various functions over the years. After the death of King Stanisław August Poniatowski, it was the site of various events and changes in Poland for many years. It is currently part of Royal Baths Museum in Warsaw, and its interiors are open to visitors. The Palace is one of the most important symbols of Polish cultural and architectural heritage.
Why I built it:
As a Pole myself I built it because in the entire lego architecture series there is no monument from Poland and besides, you got on our bad side with the scandal related to Maria Skłodowska-Curie.
Why I believe this would make a great LEGO set:
I believe in this because I think that set would appeal to many Poles and people from other countries would have the opportunity to get to know Polish historic buildings.
