The Polar Express

Who hasn't seen the movie about a train that brings children to the North Pole to see Santa Claus?
I'm talking about The Polar Express, by Robert Zemeckis.

The model description
This train is a detailed LEGO replica. It has 2 cars; back car and first car for passengers. I also built the other one were the unused toys are, but it is not included in this design because of the size limitation. Those three cars appear in the movie and each one has detailed elements outside and inside, It also has the coal car and of course the locomotive; it is almost exactly detailed as the original one, inside it you can find a little easter egg refering to Zemeckis' most famous movies: Back to The Future, which also appears in the movie (you can see it in minute 35:55 - 35:56), and has functional elements such as he wheels and the steam piston systems.
Each car has detachable rooftop to see it's detailed insides.

Features

Train cars:
  • Car N.1: It is the car where the kids stay and drink the hot chocolate. Every seat has its table where you can see the mugs where the chocolate may be. It also has two details: the vent hole where the golden ticket passes through in the movie, and also the emergency break, like the scene when the main character pulls it to stop the train.
  • Car N.2: Inside this last car we can find confortable seats with a table on one of the sides. Each table has a lamp like the movie. On the top roof of this car we can find the campfire with the ccoking pot where the homeless ghost appears for the first time in the movie. Is a funny detail I likes to include.

The set also includes the characters:
  • Hero boy
  • Hero girl
  • Lonely boy
  • Know-it-all boy
  • Conductor
  • Smokey and Steamer
  • Hobo (homeless ghost)

Of course, each kid has a golden ticket to aboard the train.

This is a modified version of my original build, designed to fit into the 3000 pieces limit.
I build it because I love trains, and this was one of the movies I liked when I was a kid, and I always wondered to have a LEGO set of such a beautiful train. I think it could be an incredible LEGO set because of all the people that likes LEGO and all the people that has seen the movie. It is a nice piece for playing or collecting, detailed and full of possibilities. I'm sure parents and kids will love to build this train while seeing the movie, or recreating some scenes with it.

Total parts: 2683 pieces.

I hope you really liked this set, i spent lot of time taking references to do it as accurate and detailed as possible for this set to be incredible.
Thanks a lot for your attention!
