The Polar Express
Polar Express is a movie about a young boy questioning whether he believes in Santa Claus or not. On Christmas Eve, there's a mythical train known as the Polar Express that visits his home and takes him to the North Pole to revive his faith in Santa and what he symbolizes. The film is set in the 1950s and tells the story of the boy's journey to visit Santa Claus in preparation for Christmas. While he travels, he embarks on a journey of discovery that teaches him that the magic of life never fades for those who believe.
3 fun fact about the movie
• There seems to be a flux capacitor from the Back to the Future in the cabin of the locomotive. By the way, you can see it in my model on the 12th image.
• The number of cars sometimes goes from 5 to 20 and one time it even drops to 3, but I'll come back to that later.
• In the North Pole scene, where the elves reported that a child had put gum in his sister's hair, the child's name was Steven, named after Steven Spielberg, a friend of director Robert Zemeckis, inspired by Steven's childhood memories.
About the model
The model includes the steam locomotive, the abandoned toy car, the passenger car, and the observation car, which are all the parts of the train we know. Also, if you watch the movie, you can see that right after the train climb the Big Mountain, the boy hero, the girl hero, and the conductor get back on the train and start with the abandoned toy car. The boy hero is left alone and scared by the hobo with the Ebenezer Scrooge puppet. By the way, i made that scene in my model in the 5th picture. The boy hero then returns to the passenger car, calms down, and goes straight to the observation car, where the aurora borealis can be seen. So this means that in this part of the movie, there are only 3 cars like my model.
Physical information
• There are 4930 pieces
• The model is not motorized because the model is too heavy (around 118.613oz/3362.6 gram)
• There are 12 minifigures if we consider the caribou and the Ebenezer Scrooge puppet as minifigures.
• The length of the locomotive with the three cars is 234.4 studs/187.52 cm/73.83 inches
• The train can handle curves on a regular Lego train track, but I couldn't show it because I can only use 15 images.
Playing features
• The 12 minifigures add a lot of playability possibilities. Here is the list of minifigures that you can see in the 15th image: the hero boy, the girl hero, Billy the lonely boy, Know-It-All, the hobo, the conductor, pastry chefs, waiters, Ebenezer Scrooge puppet, Caribou, Smokey and Steamer.
• Several objects related to characters/minifigures are included, such as the bell for the hero boy, the ticket for the hero girl, the Christmas present for Billy, a lantern for the driver, a shovel for Smokey and a bundle for the hobo. you can see everything I just told you in the 15th image.
• In the 9th picture you can see that there is a hole with a stud on the top of the observation car because you can change from the simple flat roof to the scene of the hobo meeting.
• You can add skis to the hobo to make the train skiing scene.
• There is a spot on the abandoned toy car where you can remove part of the roof to recreate the "YOU'RE A DOUBTER! " scene where the hobo scares hero boy with the Ebenezer Scrooge puppet. You can see this in the 4th image and 5th image.
• You can remove the roof and the right wall of the 3 cars to access the interior and all its details to play with. By the way, you could also note that all the outside and inside doors are removable to let the minifigure go inside. Unfortunately Lego does not make 1x2 doors so that's why I made it this way.
• There is a trap on the locomotive that lets the conductor talk to Smokey and Steamer to guide them during the escaping the frozen lake scene. I made this trap on the 11th image which is a GIF to show that it opens like in the movie.
• In the 12th image you can see that the locomotive cabin is accessible by removing the roof and the right wall, which means that you can use the interactive elements that I added there, such as the brake, the part that the hero boy and the hero girl almost confused with the brake, the part that Steamer tore off by removing the pin and other small details like the whistle rope which is attached to the roof.
• This model contains a large Polar Express ticket tile like the Hogwarts Express™ – Collectors' Edition set which included an 8x16 tile ticket. The model also includes some smaller tickets for the child minifigures. You can see this in the 14th image.
• In the passenger car, there is a brake lever inside that you can see in the 7th image. It was the brake that the hero boy had used at the beginning of the film so that Billy could get on the train.
• All cars have their own turning brake wheel (in my model, they can turn because they are connected to a technic pin) that the hero boy used to brake the observation car when he was at the North Pole.
There's probably a lot more to say that I've forgotten, but I think I'll stop there for all the playing features.
The reason why could this be a good Lego ideas set
My project could be a superb Lego set, because the model is, in my opinion, beautiful and therefore displayable. Moreover, as I showed earlier, the number of playing features is considerable. Unfortunately, I'm not the first to make a Polar Express on Lego Ideas, so my model doesn't look very original, but I think I have my chance knowing the number of cool features that I put. For all these reasons, this model could be a great Lego set.

I would be very grateful if you could support, comment or share my idea.💖
