Version 9

Well, the penultimate version 9 looked quite nice and was indeed really improved (the air vent, the stripes, the big wheels!).

But...

...the unsolved problem for me was and still remains the big rear spoiler. Look at photos of the original "Pikes Peak S1":

- The rear spoiler has five edges, with colour stripes of red, grey, black and, then, white, at the end.

But white, at my car's rear spoiler, is up above, as you can see - from the first real one (1.0) right to the current project version 10. Sigh...

- Furthermore, the original rear spoiler builds not much higher than the car's roof itself. While mine towers it clearly.

But... how to do it better, especially smaller, with LEGO-means?

Maybe the geniuses at LEGO will find a better solution (I already have some ideas, ask me!) - when the time comes and the 10.000 supports have come in.

LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Version 7 - a slim B-pillar at last! (But windshield still only leaned on.)

On

Version 6 - flat roof, better front spoiler.

Ah, I talk/write too much!

I wanted you to guess the changes and now I started give them away. Too excited about my own project, may seem familiar to you...

Version 4 - the first stickers

On

Version 3 - Windshield leaned on (I liked the slope)

On

Version 1.0 - the first real one

Sorry to do this all in separate updates, see no other way...

Version 0 - the funny first one

This was really my first try - with only a few old bricks from the 80s to choose from, Sunday afternoon at a relative's house.

"I'll try again. I can do better!" I thought, and did.

(Update deleted.)

First I had problems to upload the pictures for the update, but now everything is ok.

Update - or downdate? Back in time! See above!

Soon comes the update I promised, or more a downdate? Because I will show you some of the former versions of my Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak.

But first

- Yes, I accidently forgot to type S1 on the project's title - argh! Now it's too late to change it. At least I mentioned it in the text.

- This one goes out to the Sport quattro nerds: Yes, I intentionally did not add E2, which was the second evolution type of the S1 (Entwicklungsstufe 2): Because the Pikes Peak-Version had even bigger spoilers than the E2-Version of 1985, so in my humble (and singular) opinion it should correctly be called "E3", but that would be too irritating. Besides, on my original Audi-poster from 1987 and a set of Audi-play cards much later (Autoquartett 25 years of quattro) from about 2005 Audi themselves wrote "Audi Sport quattro S1" when showing this car. So I howl with this most relevant wolf. But enough of that.

- I recognized some language mistakes and I'm sorry - but I wrote it down in one sitting, that's life.

- I'm sure everyone of my fellow builders could write a book about why he/she did this or that this way and changed other things and kept again some others parts. Feel free to search for the changes between the pictures!
