Arrested Development

Now the story of a wealthy family who lost everything, and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together…

The show that ran from 2003 to 2006 (and then rebooted in 2013 to 2019) follows the Bluth family and son Michael rebuilding everything after his Father, George Sr is imprisoned. It’s one of my absolute favourite sitcoms, so I wanted to challenge myself and build some of the most iconic parts of the show while representing as many of my favourite jokes and references for people to find throughout. 

My project is made up of roughly 2,700 pieces, and three main builds:

Aka the Seawind unit, the model home is where most of the family resides despite its poor workmanship. This model home has multiple rooms in the interior:

One of the last remaining modes of transport available to the Bluth’s, the stair car is an iconic part of the show and a reminder of their financial troubles after having to sell off the private jet it used to accompany. The build has room for a driver behind the wheel, as well as all the hop-ons you want on the back

Located on Newport Beach, the frozen banana stand is part of the Bluth Company and provides employment to the youngest generation of the family. The roof comes off and there’s room for George Michael behind the counter and remember, there’s always money in the banana stand!
