When I was a child, one of my favorite movies was Monsters, Inc., which came out in 2001. I loved the funny and heartwarming story of two monsters, Sulley and Mike, who worked at a factory that collected screams from kids. The movie also introduced Boo, a sweet little girl who changed the lives of the monsters forever. I watched it so many times that it became a big part of my childhood memories when i was about 12 years old.
Recently, I decided to create a Monsters, Inc. Lego Ideas model as a tribute to this beloved movie. The set includes James P. Sullivan as Sully, Mike Wazowski, and Boo and I also built the iconic door, which plays such an important role, where the way of going from a room to an other room in the movie, Monsters, Inc. factory. Scarers use this technology to enter the human's world and scare the children.
It was so much fun to design each character, making sure to capture their unique personalities with Lego pieces. Sulley’s big, fluffy frame, Mike’s one eye, and Boo’s adorable smile all came to life in the build.
Building this model reminded me of how much I loved the movie and its message about friendship and courage. Sharing it with others through Lego Ideas felt like a great way to honor something that meant so much to me growing up. I hope that fans of the movie and Lego enthusiasts will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
The model has been built by 1463 lego bricks in total.
