Help your fellow builder by leaving your feedback based on these three criteria:
- Originality: How original is this - never seen before?
- Building Techniques: How much skill do you think the creator of this MOC has, in terms of building technique?
- Details: Express how much you like the details of the build.
Your feedback is only shown to the creator as well as yourself. It is not available for other users to see. The creator won't see your user name.
I always wanted to make a NYC-style building and this is what I’ve come up with.
I features a weird shop in the ground floor and a whole flat on the upper levels. I tried to include a lot of details, there’s even an R2-D2 figure in the bedroom, because, honestly, can you think of a New Yorker who doesn’t own a Star Wars gimmick?
This model is loosely based on a house next to the Ghostbusters building »Hook and Ladder 8« at 11 N Moore St, New York, NY 10013. I just stumbled upon it while researching on another project and thought it had all the typical features of a NYC apartment building, including the fire escape staircase at the front.
The model is designed as a modular building, so it does not have the exact same proportions as it’s real-life inspiration, but I think four stories is already enough height for a lego set. I also used this opportunity to try some more advanced building techniques.
I’d only like to add that if this was to be made into an actual set, I’d probably adjust a few things here and there. I don’t want to go into detail because that would be really annoying but I find some things are not perfect yet.
Unfortunately, Cuusoo’s image embedding is not that perfect yet, so if you like to see more/HiRes images, try this.
