The iconic vehicle of the movie The Martian. With this, Mark Watney makes Acidalia Planitia a distance of 3200 km to the Schiaparelli crater. Watney is modifying the Martian transport vehicle, adding solar panels and batteries to make longer journeys with it.
Mark searches for and finds Mars Pathfinder, which has been inoperable and buried in Martian sand since 1997. This will contact the JPL, to whom you will send a photo with the question, “are you taking this broadcast?”.
The model is built of more than 400 parts. Its chassis adapts to the terrain, the front wheels are steerable. The top of the cab can be removed.
The Pathfinder can be placed on the platform using a separate frame.
Such vehicles provide a good theme and challenge for builders.
