Nasa's Mars Phoenix lander mission was launched on August 4, 2007 and touched down in the arctic plains of Mars on May 25, 2008. Phoenix landed the farthest north that any Mars mission has to date. Equipped with an array of scientific instruments such as a scoop attached to the end of its arm, Phoenix would collect soil samples and deposit them into one of its eight mini ovens.
Unfortunately the lander was not designed to survive the harsh Martian winter, and the last communication was received on November 2, 2008.
In my build I have tried my best to make it as accurate as possible to the lander. Phoenix's mast camera can swivel 360 degrees and its arm can either be stowed or deployed to scoop at the brick built surface. Phoenix can be removed from the display base as well. I built this because Phoenix is one of my favorite Mars landers. I think this would be a great display build for any space enthusiast or Mars exploration fan. The build includes a total of 1105 pieces. The build was created in BrickLink Studio.
