Welcome to my design of South African botanical flowers, featuring Fynbos flowers and plants from the Cape Floral Kingdom.
It all started with a drive to create the Protea - the South African national flower - out of LEGO pieces. The other flowers came naturally. Erica Blenna is a distinctive flower from my hometown; I often see Green Tree Pincushions on hikes on Table Mountain; and every spring the West Coast turns into a lush bed of wild flowers.
Fynbos (fine bush) is a type of shrubland vegetation found in the Cape Floral Kingdom in South Africa, where I live. There are over 9000 Fynbos species, which deliver some of the most striking flowers in the world.
Featured in this display is the Bot River Protea (Protea compacta), the Splendid Pagoda (Mimetes splendidus), the Green Tree Pincushion (Leucospermum conocarpodendron), Button Bush (Berzelia lanuginosa), Chincherinchee (Ornithogalum thyrsoides), West Coast wild flowers called Gousblomme (Arctotis hirsuta) and Erica Blenna flowers.
They are arranged in a bed of flowers to mimic our famous West Coast flower season. This display can make a great coffee table centre piece or even wall art. I appreciate your support for this project.
