I like different types of movement in Lego sets and wanted to build a "flying" helicopter. So after some trial and error I came up with this balanced design to make the movements smooth and avoid strain on the mechanisms. I would suggest the final version of the set on the shelves would also include an extra little stunt airplane model that can be swapped out with the helicopter. I managed to fit the motors and mechanisms in the body as much as possible and used black for the colour so the focus stays on the flying helicopter. I used the Lego PoweredUP app to build the controls which allows you to smoothly control the speed of the up/down and flying movement. The red and green buttons start/stop the rotors. I included some wheels in the footings to give the model more grip on a smooth surface and to give the set some more options for alternative building options which I think is a bit part of the fun with lego sets. Unfortunately I didn't have any smooth rotor blades to complete the set so hopefully the team and lego can design some that fit this model. I really enjoyed putting this project together and I think it would make a great playable lego set.
