Bot Commander Eco 05
The robot included in the "Bot Repair Bay" the 3rd alternate build possible with this set proposal follows its own concept. It consists of limbs, shoulders, arms, hands and so on which join with join balls.
The limbs may be joined in different ways, example upper arm turned and placed somewhere else become a blaster and so on.
All this may be done with the bricks of the Repair Bay. If you get the set 3x you have additional possibilities with the total leftovers. Please see the "Bonus Material" in the description. One of these "bonuses" is a small space fighter:
This space fighter consists of a cockpit, two wings and an engine on top. Wings and cockpit may be used as parts of the Bot Commander. This way even more possibilities arise in order to form your robot from light class to heavy class:
Hope you like this "idea in the idea". I thank you all for supporting. Please share this with all your friends. Thanks!

Galaxy Dropship Part III
This is the last update presenting the Galaxy Dropship. I have made two animated gifs showing the possibilities. The space fighter Delta 9er is double sided, fits a pilot and co-pilot, the latter may be placed in by opening the hatches in the back. Besides the retracting landing feet the engines rotate and may even be retracted.
In the back the cargo bay docks to the fighter forming the dropship. The cargo bay features opening doors in the stern of the ship, rotating engines and wings that may be moved in several positions. This allows easier access but also different looks. The cargo bay may hold everything within this scenario that is not fixed to the hangar. That is: the mobile lab, the truck, the trailer with either the plasma or the fuel tank or just the trailer. Also accross the alternative builds, the dropship may also hold the space buggy from the mining outpost as well as the small fighter from the repair bay (cockpit of the Bot Commander).
I thank you all for supporting Lego Antares. We reached 700 supporters and hopefully can keep the pace up.

About Bricks & Hoses
About Hoses
I used 4 pneumatic hoses and 2 black 19studs long flexible ribbed hoses with 8mm ends (Bricklink #57539) in the set proposal. I made all instructions/renderings with Bricklink’s Studio. Unfortunately it does not yet support bending such hoses and I am not very much acquainted with LD Draw yet. Therefore I am posting the pictures of those mocs that use these hoses with real bricks. PLEASE forgive me if some bricks come in different colors than in the rendered pics (a few bricks in other colors are non-existent yet, but most of them I simply do not have and I did not craft the stickers).
Then again showing you some mocs with real bricks is essential to show that I built everything with real bricks. To my opinion this is very important to recheck stability.
About Bricks
Some have asked me how many bricks the set contains. Let me say that it is very important to me to keep amount of bricks as low as it does not affect the essence and the overall looks of the mocs negatively. I have invested an entire month only for the purpose of reducing amount of bricks. With such a complex model this is only possible with many interconnected Excel lists which count each brick of every single moc. These lists are interrelated so that when I delete/replace a brick from one model I can see how this affects models of other scenarios. So going through all the lists I managed to cut bricks by approx. 400.
I am still not done yet. If this proposal reaches something between 1000 and 2500 supporters I will invest time in a second round of streamlining and cutting. Then I will reveal the exact amount of total bricks.
For now let me inform if Lego Antares becomes an official set, in spite of the 3in1 concept with big models and so many possibilities, it would not be the biggest LegoIdeas set available.
I would like to thank you all for your support!

Legonit Vehicle
The Legonit Vehicle consists of a space buggy, which comes in a combat or in a science configuration. It tows a trailer on which you may either dock a science lab or a dumper with grabber or a container. Thus it may (S)earch (R)etrieve & (T)ransport the Legonit.
As to the looks of the Legonit Vehicle it is a mashup of the Uranium Search Vehicle, the All Terrain Vehicle, the Shovel Buggy and the Space Digger & Dozer. As said in the Galaxy Dropship Update, the space buggy is a mashup of the buggy which appeared on the back of the box of the Galaxy Commander from 1983. In spite of reminding in a way of specific models of the past they all have their own look.
Make sure you check the animation video for the Mining Outpost in the description.
Thank you for the continuing support of Lego Antares Base. It is highly appreciated!

Antares Blacktron Minifigs Proposal
The BlackTron Minifigs should remind of BlackTron I and II at the same time. The “Evil Mech” from Collective Minifig Series 11 was perfect for the job. On the arms it has a “B” and a mirrored “B” reminding of BlackTron II and the torso as well as the torso wear has the black and yellow triangle on it.
The set includes one BlackTron Minifig, but you can choose from two different ways to build it. One is closer to BlackTron II, looks friendlier and the other one is a menacing looking figure reminding of BlackTron I. The friendlier one uses a black helmet from Galaxy Squad with a Trans Yellow visor.
You may choose if you want to use the black tanks or the black torso wear with the BlackTron sign on it. The "deadlier" looking figure is the combat suit. It consists of the torso wear and a diver’s helmet with a black visor and a precision laser pointer on it.
As to the torso wear, I did not like how the tanks look like: too thin. So I just added 2 black round plates with a whole in the middle and 2 round tiles in trans yellow making the tanks look in line with the rest of the figure.
The strength of this concept is the flexibility. You want the black Classic Space guy instead of the white one that comes in the set. Fine, use the menacing looking combat suit for the BlackTron Minifig and its tank and helmet for the black Classic Space Minifigure. Of course in that case you should also use the extra two black hands built within the Moc.
What do you think of this concept?

Galaxy Dropship Part II
The cargo possibilities should not end with a lab and a buggy.
Since the buggy is incorporated in the "Outpost" scenario and I also wanted to make possible holding a vehicle by acquiring the set "only" once, with an adapter the Galaxy Dropship may also hold the truck of its own scenario
and the trailer and the fuel tank and the plasma tank. Well it is a cargo dropship after all!
Up to know I had merged the Galaxy Explorer and the Galaxy Commander and I had merged the scenario Galaxy Explorer and Mining Outpost (the space buggy is part of the outpost). I also wanted to have a possibility of attaching a small fighter in the cargo bay (similar to the set 6973, the Deep Freeze Defender). In the third scenario (Repair Bay) there is a robot included. The bot's cockpit may be detached converting it into a small spacecraft (pic 5), a space fighter. It is this fighter that may also dock into the cargo bay of the Dropship. A typical sci-fy motive of a bigger ship holding smaller fighters.
The explode view of the Galaxy Dropship shows how easy the Dropship may be reconfigured.
The Cargo Space Freighter (see picture) is an example: replaced wings by the wings of the small space fighter from the Bonus Material and you get a chunky freighter look. The aim of this concept is to encourage other enthusiasts to for example design their own wings and change the dropship's look completely.
Or just take the front part of the Glaxy Dropship and use it as a space fighter.
Checkout the pictures with the possibilities. Also take a look at the animated Dropship video.
I hope you like my version of a Galaxy Spacecraft, the "Galaxy Dopship" and help make this set a reality. Thx for all the support.

Galaxy Explorer or Galaxy Commander Part I
As a kid I was thrilled when I got the Galaxy Explorer from my grandma. When the Galaxy Commander made its first appearance, I was magically drawn to the toy store where I spent all my hard earned savings with a smile on my face. Both spaceships were awesome. For Antares I wanted to merge both spaceships in a very subtle way forming a completely new looking spacecraft. The idea of the Galaxy Dropship was borne.
Like the Galaxy Commander it has a cargo area which detaches from the spacecraft. Like the Commander the cargo area of the Dropship holds a space lab as well. On the other hand it is also be capable of holding a buggy like the Explorer. But the Dropship's buggy is bigger than the one from the Galaxy Explorer. For the design of the buggy I went back to the concept of the Galaxy Commander.
The back of the box of the Galaxy Commander showed several alternative builds. As a kid I was mesmerized by the space buggy displayed there. My space buggy is a completely new version of that buggy and should also fit in the cargo bay. It comes in a combat and in a science mode but may also be used in a neutral way.
Stay tuned for the next update the Galaxy Dropship part II, to check out what else the Galaxy Dropship is capable of. Meanwhile I thank you for all the support,
best

Antares Classic Space Minifigs
The set includes 4 Classic Space Minifigs and 1 Blacktron, in total 5 Minifigs. The Antares Classic Space Minifigs should remind of Classic Space but still have a next generation look. Personally I love the Classic Space Minifig from the Collective Series 15. I used hips, body and arms as a base. Then I took the helmet used in Galaxy Squad and a visor in trans yellow which is in line with the Classic Space look. Some minor changes in color:
The Minifig of the Collective Series has red stripes on its legs, arms and on the torso. These stripes should have the same color as the Minifigs helmet, tanks and hands. In case of the black and white Minifig the stripes remain black (white on the torso). The reason for the black/white variant is due to the fact that the set comes with 4 Minifigs (instead of all 5 colors). Thus by using the extra parts of the Blacktron Minifig (check upcoming Blacktron Minifig update) instead of the white Classic Space Minifig you may build the black Minifig (without losing the Blacktron Minifig). In case you get the set twice you can build the black and the white figure at the same time.
The reason I opted for “only” 4 instead of 5 Classic Space Minifigs is because I needed an additional Blacktron Minifig in the set and too many Minifigs would make the set too costly, I suppose. So the set comes with a yellow, red, blue and white (which also serves as black) Classic Space Minifig and one Blacktron in two versions.
So new colors are only one helmet in blue and the torso due to the stripes (black, yellow and blue). In order to maximize variety of faces in case someone gets the set twice, all heads should be double sided.
Again thanks a lot for all the support!

Antares, the story
In the year 2029, 60 years after Armstrong set foot on the Moon, Classic Space Astronauts returned and started exploring the back side of the Moon as well. One day, researchers found a lava tunnel which led them to a huge cave underneath the surface. They could not believe their eyes. It contained alien artifacts, which were retrieved and examined by retro-engineering. Legokind learned a lot, about new propulsion methods, ways of bending three dimensional space, possibilities of interstellar communication, building a gravity generator or protective shields against cosmic radiation and solar bursts and about fusion and anti-matter technology for “endless” energy supply. But they also learned about a new material making it all possible: Legonit.
Unfortunately Legonit is a very heavy material that can only evolve in double or triple star systems. Fortunately a map of the surrounding solar systems was found which marked all systems containing Legonit. According to that map the nearest system containing Legonit was Alpha Centauri. There, a giant gas-planet called “Pezo” orbiting Alpha Centauri B had several satellites, one of which was similar in size to Earth, arid with water reservoirs and an atmosphere similar in density to Earth, but not quite breathable. The name of that moon: Kala.
The good news: There was some Legonit found in the cave. The bad news: there is just enough Legonit to reach Alpha Centauri in 10 years.
100 years later and after great efforts by the “Federation of Free States” the council managed to send a first colony ship to Kala in order to retrieve enough Legonit and thus solve many problems still menacing Earth. It took the crew of Neo Classic Space Astronauts 20 years to reach Kala, because half of the Legonit found in the cave was stolen.
A greedy researcher had sold all secret construction plans and provided part of the Legonit to the “Blacktron Empire”. The evil ruler managed to build a ship and send it on its way to Alpha Centauri too. But Blacktron researchers did not have enough time to build a space ship big enough to support a small colony. The Blacktron mission was as simple as evil: Send a spaceship with armed troops and either take over Antares colony on Kala or steal enough Legonit from the miners there in order to build an own colony and then finally take over Antares. The race had just begun. LegoKind as we know it was at stake.
Check the "rock" brick in the picture I would suggest Legonit for. There are four of them next to the space buggy.
Many thanks to all of you supporters out there. Antares has surpassed 200 votes in approx 2 days. Fantastic!
