This is my 1:9 scale model of K.I.T.T., the talking, self-driving, turbo-boosting, indestructible Pontiac Firebird Trans Am from the 1982 TV show, Knight Rider. I wanted to pay homage to the iconic design of this famous cult classic, so I consulted lots of sources to achieve the correct proportions of the original customized car.

My K.I.T.T. model features a robust frame that is easy to pick up and play with, a full screen-accurate interior (Season 1), opening doors, pop-up headlights, removable hood, functioning front-wheel steering, and when upgraded with power functions also has lights, sounds, and motorized driving!
I had a lot of fun designing this to look good and still maintain lots of functionality. I think it would be an amazing display piece for anyone fond of vintage cars, cheesy 80s television, RC electronics, or large scale LEGO vehicles like the 1989 Batmobile.
