I clearly remember the TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard” as one of my favorite of my childhood…the orange customized car running through the United States country roads chased by the white sheriff's car. The situations and the dialogues of the series were very funny too! And of course the good guys always triumphed…
The series was one of the top-rated TV series in the late 70s and early 80s, aired for the first time from 1979 to 1985, with a total of 7 seasons and 147 episodes.
In my proposal I merged my passion for this series with the one for the Lego models of the famous movies and TV cars, with a Speed Champions set including the main characters of the series with their cars:
- The cousins Bo and Luke Duke, “the Duke boys”, the two main characters, with their fast and snappy orange car. For this car I chose to draw the Stars and Stripes flag on the roof, as one of the universally recognized symbols of union, personal and individual freedom.
- Rosco P. Coltrane, the bumbling and corrupt Hazzard County Sheriff, with his car. Rosco spends much of his time unsuccessfully chasing Bo and Luke.
- Boss Hogg, the wealthiest, corrupt man in Hazzard County who constantly orders Rosco to "Get them Duke boys!”. He owns a very long and luxurious white (as his usual clothes) car, with two long horns in the front.
- Daisy Duke, Bo and Luke’s cousin, with her white off-road car, and “Uncle Jesse” Duke.
Each of these cars could host at least two Minifugures, in order to be able to reproduce different game situations and therefore improve the set playability.
The set includes 4 cars and 6 Minifigures.
I used about 1000 total parts.
I believe a real Lego set of the Dukes of Hazzard should not be missing!
