Who doesn’t know the problem of Lego trains derailing in tight curves?
A tilting trainsolves that problem in a clever way: When the train passes through a curve the carriages are tilted towards the inside of the curve in order to compensate for the centrifugal force. This way the train can travel at a higher speed without derailing.
The train consists of 4 carriages that tilt individually as soon as they go through a curve. It is motorized with one Powered Up train motor placed in the middle of the train. This makes it easy to watch it travelling at great speed through any curve.
Just like many real tilting trains the carriages become narrower towards the top in order to avoid collisions with objects along the way while the train is tilted. Inside the train there is space for minifigures to sit down and enjoy the ride.
In my opinion tilting trains are pretty fun and that’s why I always wanted to build one with Lego.
I think this would make a brilliant set because the model includes a cool mechanism causing the tilt. Also, since the train doesn’t derail at high speeds it’s great fun to play with it. And of course: Everyone loves trains! 😁
