After playing with a wooden catapult, I was inspired to build a medieval catapult out of Legos.  The model is a working catapult.  A simple rubber band gives it the spring-action required to launch your ammunition.  I used a grey Lego rock with a piece of Lego gold inside as ammunition.  I also used some gray cylinders for ammunition.  By simply pulling downward on the catapult, you can launch your chosen ammunition quite a distance.  This model would be a good set for all ages, kids will enjoy launching things, older Lego enthusiasts will enjoy the simple engineering behind it.  It would go well with a castle, or knight set, but could be modified to fit in with many different types of sets.
