Here is a suggestion for a slightly different model, namely a Mallet steam locomotive. The steam locomotive is a B-B (020-020) locomotive with number P.O. 104. Locomotives have 2 x 2 steam engines. The 2 high-pressure cylinders are mounted on the locomotive frame while the two low-pressure cylinders are mounted on a bogie.
The locomotive is designed so that it can run on Lego standard rails, but can of course also be displayed on a shelf when not in use. The signal is fully functional and can be set using a crank. A special detail of the model is that the boiler has been fired.
Special construction details include SNUT technique, but also the Upside down technique to create the oval windows.
Why could this be a good LEGO IDEAS set?
My idea could be a great Lego set, because the model is displayable in its beauty and playable because it can be motorized and runs on classic Lego train tracks. For these reasons, this model could be a great set to have.
Background
The locomotive previously belonged to the SNCF, but today runs on Le Chemin de fer du Vivarais (CFV). The Vivarais railway (CFV) is a tourist railway located in Ardèche in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, which today connects Saint-Jean-de-Muzols (alt. 130 m) with Lamastre (alt. 373 m) and has a length of 33 km.
