Modular Old House

Hello everybody! I’m glad to introduce you my new project on LEGO Ideas. The idea behind this project was to build the house as battered, wrecked and ruined as possible, giving the impression that it was both old and abandoned (except for the ghost and other creatures).

I have spent a lot of enjoyable hours building this project with LDD, and several more rendering the different views and main objects. It’s been a lot of work, but at the same time it’s been very pleasant too. The main features are set forth below.

Main features

The house comprises a front porch with a main entrance, a ground floor with a backyard, a first floor, and a towered roof.

The set has been designed onto two base plates (32x32 and 16x32).

Front porch and main entrance

Three broken stairs flanked by two shattered rails provide access to the front porch and to the main entrance. Six columns support a partially collapsed door canopy. Both the stairs and the porch are reinforced with hollow bricks.

Ground floor

The ground floor has a dining room, a kitchen with a pantry, and a toilet.

The floor of the dining room has a large hole that shows the beams below, where two big spiders have made their home. In front of the fireplace there is a split and broken dining table still having some old pieces of cutlery. A wooden staircase that has been detached from the wall provides access to the first floor.

The kitchen has a sink and a cupboard with some cooking utensils. A door provides access to the pantry.

The toilet has a washbasin, a broken mirror and glass scattered on the floor.

Backyard

The backyard communicates with the ground floor through a rear door, and with the porch through a few stairs located on the right side of the house. The backyard has a small pool and a haunted tree.

First floor

The first floor has a corridor, two bedrooms and a living room/library.

The walls of the corridor are recovered up to the half by partially broken wooden panels. Along the corridor there are some broken or bent wall lights.

The lower part of the wall between the corridor and the living room/library has collapsed, breaking the floor below and falling to the ground floor. The rooms have damaged furniture, and glass scattered on the floor, specially in front of the broken the windows.

Towered Roof

The roof has an attic that hides a ghost and a spider, three towers, and many rainwater gutters.

Minifigures

Black cat.

Two rats.

Three spiders.

I hope you like it. Thanks for your support!
