Metallica Stage Amplifier

Back in February of 2021, Metallica played on the Super Bowl Edition of A Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Behind them were all of their different amplifiers from over the years, and many of us noticed a new amplifier in the mix.

Fast forward to September of 2021, and the new amplifier, edged in black with a white face and a black M glitch-logo, became a feature on the stage for all concerts through September 2022. They are usually stacked two-high, but sometimes single, and located on either side of Lars Ulrich, the drummer.

I thought it would be fun to have a smaller and simpler introduction, or reintroduction, to LEGO for Metallica fans by way of a desktop-sized amplifier. Keeping it small and simple (14x14x4 studs), it could be something anyone could easily make, and display in a small space, like on a desk.

After building a prototype and ordering a few pieces, I set-out to build this one Saturday morning. It was a quick and easy build that displays nicely anywhere.

Why would this make a good set? Here are two reasons, LEGO and Lars Ulrich. Arguably Denmark's two most famous exports. The better question might be: How has this not happened yet? Both LEGO and Metallica fans are avid collectors, both fans come in all ages, and this is a fun set that everyone can enjoy.

My hope is that when LEGO and Metallica fans look at it, the response is a smile and "I WANT ONE!"

If you would like to one day build this, please take a minute (that’s all it takes!) to set up a LEGO IDEAS account and click the SUPPORT button. 10, 0000 votes are needed for it to move-on to be reviewed by LEGO for consideration as a potential buy/buildable set.

Sharing to your favorite social media platform will help others to see and support it too.
