An earlier model that inspired the Ideas submission

Here is an earlier model of the Digital Desk Clock that included a calendar function.
It required seven tracks to display month, day of month, day of week, hour, and minute.
However, the hub only supports six motors, so the hour tracks are different lengths and connected to a single motor. As a result, it could not display 24-hour format time.

It was disassembled to create the Digital Desk Clock for Ideas, and another clock calendar with an analog clock face, shown here:

360-degree view

Here is a rotation view of the recent updates to the Digital Desk Clock:
  • Wider lunar bezel
  • Wider tiled foot
  • Light tan digits
  • Improved USB power cord retention

Some cosmetic alternates for consideration

Here are some renderings of a few cosmetic changes that I'm considering:
  • A wider lunar bezel fills the space above the digits a bit more
  • A wider tiled foot cleans up the bottom
  • Light tan digits as an alternative to white digits

  • A trans-black panel to improve perceived contrast of the lunar display
Pros: It is difficult to show in a photo, but there is a bit of improvement.
Cons: The bezel gets pushed forward one brick depth and the edges of the panel are visible.

Please comment on these considerations or any others you may have in mind.
