The Igiby Cottage & Black Carriage (The Wingfeather Saga)

I recently read the Wingfeather Saga to my kids and all of us got hooked. From the opening pages of On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness, we were absorbed into the world of Aerwiar. We started reenacting scenes in Lego and it wasn't long before I started building the Igiby Cottage. It was a joy to iterate with my kids and continually refine the design into what it is today. Even though it has been a while since we finished the last pages of the series, we keep going back to that world in Lego form. So we humbly present to you the Igiby Cottage & Black Carriage.

The Igiby Cottage was built using reference material from the books and the animated series. The richly-detailed concept art was exciting to explore and find little details that make the home feel...well.. "lived in." Whether it's the cozy front porch, or the packed kitchen shelves, or the kids' loft space, each space is full of life. One could easily get immersed in the day-to-day life of the Igiby's.

But beware... in the late hours of the night, you may hear the terrible sounds of approaching dread - the Black Carriage. Pulled through the shadows by a team of mad horses, the pitiless carriage driver sits atop the the rolling cage, while Slarb the Fang rides at the back. Those hapless children taken by the Black Carriage are said to never been seen again.

But the Igiby's won't be easy to snare, at least not with their unexpected guardians in the forest nearby. Peet the Sock Man and not-so-small Nugget (based in part on Fluffy from the Harry Potter Fluffy Encounter set) are ready to help at the first sign of danger. Matched with the fiery spirit of the Igiby's, they're sure to light a spark in Glipwood.

This set is just under 3000 pieces and offers a lot of different building techniques and experiences. There are a few custom decals throughout, including custom minifig textures and art pulled directly from the animated series. We hope you all can have the chance to build it someday!
