The Grandparents' Cottage

The Story:

Deep in the forest, by a quiet lake, stood Grandma and Grandpa’s little cottage. The wooden walls had seen many stories, and the green roof blended with the trees. Inside, it was always warm, and the smell of fresh tea filled the air.

Every summer, their granddaughter came to visit. She spent her days fishing with Grandpa, picking mushrooms, and listening to stories by the fireplace. Grandpa always had a big smile as he taught her how to cast a fishing line, while Grandma made the best blueberry pancakes. In the morning, when the mist still floated over the lake, they sat together on the wooden pier, waiting for the fish to bite. Time moved slower here—peaceful and happy.

Next to the cottage stood an old oak tree, Grandpa loved telling her a legend about a treasure hidden under the big oak tree.  Long ago, a traveler took shelter under its branches during a storm. To thank the tree, he buried a chest full of gold and jewels.

"But you see, my dear," Grandpa would say with a smile, "this treasure is not for just anyone. Only those who understand life’s true riches—love, family, and time spent together—can find it."

Many times, the granddaughter tried digging under the oak, but she never found anything—only acorns and a few shiny stones. But as she grew older, she started to understand. Maybe Grandpa was right. Maybe the real treasure wasn’t gold, but all the wonderful moments they shared in the little cottage by the lake.

Every day at Grandparents' cottage was full of magic, simple joys, and moments that stayed in the heart forever. And when it was time to leave, the granddaughter always promised to come back—because Grandpa and Grandma’s cottage was not just a place, but the warmth of family memories.
