Hello. I'm Iyan Ha.
This project is the creation of the novel, "Anne Of Green Gables", written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
I worked with Studio 2.0, a designer program.
This used 2935 bricks, 5 minifigures.
I made Green Gables, the beautiful house where lovely Anne lived.
And I made scenes in the novel in it.
I invite you to Anne(with an e)'s world.
-Theme-
Anne Of Green Gables is a novel written by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery and published in 1908.
The background of the novel is "Prince Edward Island" in Canada.
It is a story of growth that Anne Shirley, an orphan, experiences when she lives in Green Gables.
The girl(Anne), brought from the nursery by an old brother(Matthew) and sister(Marilla) who had no children, was skinny, freckled, ugly, and had red hair.
So she wasn't pretty. But she is always lively and imaginative, giving everyone events and pleasure.
To the old brother and sister, Anne becomes an irreplaceable precious being.
Anne fills the quiet Green Gables with warmth and happiness.
Montgomery, the author of the novel, wrote the novel with the character for the rest of her life.
The novel, which stars Anne, is a best-seller that has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.
This story made many people learn what family and happiness mean through Anne's most beautiful days.
I was happy like Anne while reading this novel.
-Green Gables-
The "Green Gables," Anne's family home in the novel, was conceived at the McNeil family home, a cousin of the author Montgomery.
When Montgomery's novel became popular, her cousin's house became a famous tourist destination in Canada in the 1930s.
When I made this house with Lego models, I referred to the author's cousin's Green Gable's photos, various illustration, animations, and various materials.
And I completed the design by adding my imagination.
The Green Gables in the novel has a real model, so they appear in similar forms in illustrations, dramas, animations, and related books.
There is a green gable roofs on the "L"-shaped two-story house, and a green window frame is embedded on the wall.
According to the novel's description, there are beautiful cherry tree around the Green Gables.
The imaginative Anne calls the tree the "Snow Queen."
And Anne's family receives water using a hand water pump.
They grow pumpkins & potatoes in the fields outside their houses.
And the family raises chickens and is served eggs.
The owner of the house, Matthew, has a wagon, so he carries crops or goes out to the city.
I included these elements in this project and made them around Green Gables.
-LEGO-built scenes & events in the novel-
â—ŹAnne's New Life
Matthew and Marilla, siblings, were thinking of bringing in a boy who could help with the farm work and raising him.
But by some mistake, Matthew bring the girl Anne, not a boy.
Anne arrives at Green Gables in Matthew's wagon with a swollen dream.
Marilla is surprised to see the girl Anne.
Now Anne's new life in Green Gables begins.

â—ŹThe cake with painkillers
One day Anne serves the Allen couple a layered cake that she made herself.
Soon everyone's expression was distorted.
The cake is because Anne accidentally put painkillers in it instead of vanilla flavor.
In fact, Manila had not told Anne that the painkiller bottle had broken and was put into a vanilla bottle. Anyway, Anne cried and the cake became the pig's food.
The cake Anne is making and the painkiller bottle are on a table inside the first floor of the Lego model. (10th rendering image)
â—ŹA mouse goes into the pudding sauce
One day Anne fell asleep forgetting to close the lid on the pudding sauce.
The next day, Anne is surprised to find a mouse in the sauce.
Anne secretly scoops the mouse away with a spoon.
When Marilla offered the pudding sauce to Mr. and Mrs. Ross shortly afterwards, Anne urgently shouted that the sauce had a mouse in it. And Marilla turned red.
The pudding sauce bottle with the lid open is placed on the table inside the first floor of the Lego model.
And underneath it is that mouse before it goes into the pudding sauce bottle. (10th rendering image)
â—ŹJuice & wine
It was one day Anne's close friend Diana visited the Green Gables.
Anne tried to give Diana a "raspberry cordial" but mistakenly offered her a "currant wine."
Anne didn't drink because she was full, but Diana drank it without knowing it was wine, saying it was unique and delicious.
Diana suddenly laughed and repeated her anger, then suddenly went home.
Anne was puzzled.
After Diana went home her parents told her to never see Anne again.
Anne cried again.

And Diana enjoying Anne's invitation on the other side. (12th rendering image)
â—ŹAnne with green hair
Young Anne, who prayed every day to be pretty, bought hair dye from the merchant of all things and dyed it by herself.
Contrary to expectations, her hair was dyed green and Anne cried her eyes out.
Marilla persuaded Anne to cut her green hair with scissors.
Anne had to have short hair for a while.
Made this scene in a large room inside the Lego Model 2nd floor. (13th rendering image)
â—ŹThe lost brooch
It wasn't long after Anne got to live in Green Gables.
When Marilla's cherished amethyst brooch disappeared, Marilla asked Anne where the brooch was.
Marilla pressed Anne to be honest.
Anne confessed to dropping it into the lake at Marilla's push.
In fact, the brooch was caught in a shawl and was in the trunk.
Marilla, who later found it, apologized to Anne.
But Marilla kindly taught Anne that false confession is also not a good thing.
This amethyst brooch is an important medium that has played a role in making Anne and Marilla weave more closely together.
Marilla's precious amethyst brooch is placed on a small table in a large room inside the Lego Model 2nd floor. (13th rendering image)
â—ŹCandlelight signals
Green Gables, where Anne lives, and the Orchard Slope, Diana's house, is a place separated by a small river.
Anne and Diana communicated by exchanging candlelight signals when they were at each other's homes.
The way to signal is to blink a candle by repeatedly covering it with paper at each other's windows.
In particular, the five candlelight signals are signals that we should meet and talk right away, meaning that it is very important.
On Diana's birthday, Diana sent Anne five candlelight signals.
In the novel, Anne and Diana's candlelight signal appears many times.
Made this scene in Anne's room on the 2nd floor of a Lego model. (14th rendering image)
â—ŹThe cracked slate
One day at school, Gilbert Blythe, a boy, teased Anne when she saw the color of Anne's red hair.
Then Anne slapped Gilbert's head with her slate in front of her classmates and teacher.
The slate was cracked and Gilbert was surprised.
But this triggered Gilbert to fall in love with Anne.
This scene is one of the famous scenes in this novel.
No matter how it is adapted from any medium, it is a scene that never falls out of the creation based on "Anne Of Green Gables".
Perhaps Anne's future husband might not be Gilbert without this cracked slate.
After all, Gilbert becomes Anne's husband in the future.
The cracked slate is placed on the floor in front of the desk in Anne's room inside the 2nd floor of the Lego model. (14th rendering image)
-Character-
I made 5 minifigures that are the main characters of the events described earlier.
- Anne Shirley, who filled Green Gables with happiness
- Marilla Cuthbert, who is strict but loves Anne more than anyone else
- Matthew Cuthbert, who is timid but always friendly to Anne
- Diana barry, always Anne's best friend
- Gilbert Blythe, future Anne's faithful husband.
That's all I'm writing about this project.
Thank you to Montgomery's "Anne Of Green Gables," which is still loved more than 100 years later.
