I've received the question how fast would you need to Pedal to keep the helicopter in the air? Short answer just over 1 Horse power real answer a lot of math the best info I've found for this is in WIRED magazine 6/25/12 "How hard is the Human Powered Helicopter?" by Rhett Allain. Math geeks you will love this article with its formulas also check out YouTube "Human-Powered Helicopter: Straight Up Difficult" But make sure you watch the winning team AeroVelo from Canada at aerovelo.com and their TEDx talk "Ingredients of Innovation"
Also of note on the upper pulley i put a white handle that when turned moves the upper blades and lower legs.
